Hi Guys,

We just received our two latest Warbirds from our little workshop in the Philippines… and here they are…

1. “The Boulton Paul Defiant”
This British two-seat fighter was used early in the Second World War. The Defiant, designed by the Boulton Paul Aircraft Co. was classified as a “turret fighter” and mounted a power operated four-gun rear turret. Its concept obviously owed much to the First World War Bristol fighter.

Amazingly although well-armed to the side and rear it had no forward facing machine guns!

K&C have produced just 5 models of this unique aircraft… the rear turret rotates and the guns elevate and depress.

The aircraft is in the markings of 141 squadron based at Church Fenton in September 1940 and has the typical RAF camouflage of the early war period… olive green and earth brown.

2. “De Havilland Mosquito”
Our second release shows the fabled fighter/bomber in the markings of the fictitious “633 Squadron” which featured in the action movie of the same name released in 1964 and starring Cliff Robertson.

Eight genuine Mosquitoes were used in the filming although only five actually flew.

The K&C version also has black and white “invasion stripes”.
Just three of this model have been produced.

Hope you like them!
Best wishes,
Patrick

Superb looking models Andy, very nice work.

Can I ask you to consider making the Defiant for the RAF range at some point in the future;)

All the best

Rob

Brilliant, man i wish i had some spare cash that Mossie would be coming home.............:)
Well done all at K+C

Nice airplanes! I like the Mosquito and got a kick out of it being marked for 633 Squadron - I like that movie (especially the theme music).

.....and more to scale. This bird looks closer to 1/32 like my Corgi's 'Mossie' !!!

Only if the RAF employed giants during WWII .

In K&C pictures the pilot's head can touch the prop spinner.

In reality this is impossible, the mossie is a large plane!

These are to scale. All the Connoisseur Warbirds are 1/30.

The dh98 Mosquito looks almost exactly like the previous one released that was an edition of 15. However, I noticed that there are no aerials on this one. As always, they are sure art work. The BP Defiant is truely unique too. Below are images of the first release as well as a canopy "shot" since someone brought it up. Enjoy the art!

Bravo,
Marc

From what I can see of the artists rendition of the plane (not a photo of the real one by the way) and the K & C version, I don't see much difference. In the drawing one of the flight crew seems to be on the same level as the prop.

Regardless, still a beautiful plane and had I the room, I would be ordering one. The following planes are going to be made:

Junkers (Summer, desert and winter)
Lysander (Desert and Europe)
P 47 Thunderbolt

I will probably hold out for one of those, funds depending :)

Wood or polystone? I would love to see these and the Mosquito in polystone.

The ones I mentioned are going to be done in wood. I don't know much about the stability of polystone but I wonder if the wings on a plane like the Mossy would be a problem.

I'm just trying to make a point; if K&C or any other manufacturer is selling a
model for that amount of money; in this case over $500,-; it should be perfect and beyond any criticism. No way you can convince me that this model; I'm only targeting the Mosquito; is a 1/30 scaled model !!!!

The wood warbirds are 1:32 scale.

I have one of the Mossies from a year or so ago, and it is one of my favorites, despite the fact that, according to our resident warbird expert, Marc ("Beaufighter"), the cockpit interior is arranged incorrectly.

The Defiant does look very tempting:eek:, but I am going to hold out for a P47 Thunderbolt.;)

Cheers Louis:

The cockpit SNAFU was just on that special one of a kind Mossie pictured below (YP-E). The throttle quadrant was placed to the right of the pilot (as pictured-refer to the visible red handles) when it was actually placed on the left side against the fuselage-refer to actual photos of the beautiful kite. The production version (HT-E) was pretty sharp but in this case the throttle quadrant was simply omitted! Hope this helps a bit! As for the size, here is a picture of me with my date...

Tally Ho,
Marc
