Rob,

I think I only mentioned that once (maybe twice) and to me it's in the past. Although we may occasionally disagree 99% of the time we do agree and that's what counts. It would be a boring friendship if we never disagreed with each other :smile2:

Cheers,

Brad

Quite right Brad, quite right:smile2:

Rob...

we are all accountable for the words we say and, in the fact that they can be brought back to remind us of what we say. If that is your opinion on X and you feel that way it can be neither hurtful or annoying to you if its used in a mickey take role. I recently had one poster try it over a Nazi issue but, brought it up in the completely wrong context!!! I am not sure the say it once thing holds water as a comment can be really instigating and outrageous and more worse than a less offensive (I use that term loosely as what is offensive in the real world is different to hear) when it is repeated. If I don't like a figure AFV etc I will say why I don't like it on open forum its my taste and opinion and my pounds that will buy it or not and, personally I want to hear what people like and don't like and, why.

I also think that when a comment is said to have been repeated and this ad nauzzzzeum!!! one has to take into account that often when its repeated either in part or similar its because a thread has many people entering it sometimes over a long period of time so, they will add something and then the originator of a comment will then respond. To me that is normal banter where we reply to different people. Now, if you happen to be a person who sticks with their opinion and not change like the proverbial wind then its a natural progression to an on going conversation about a subject.

I think, it has been the case where its apparently annoying to some because it does not fit what they see as right or in line with their collecting habits but, that does not mean its repetitive or boring its just that some find it boring and annoying because of those personal points. They are totally different things.

I look forward to being able to say I like or dislike X without somebody going radio rental for no reason and, I think we are seeing that happen and those who wish to not have that become more and more identifiable and alienated especially, as many collectors are now quite eclectic in taste and prices steadily increase.

Now this has lightened a rather rainy (actually for a real change) a somewhat boring and dreary day in the country here!!!LOL

Mitch,

You make some good points here, I also see you are joining Brad in his endless ' dreary figures ' crusade:wink2:^&grin (still don't regret that to be honest!) but to be fair I named no maker and it was not repeated over and over again to ram home the point. Actually it had a rather gratifying outcome, I learnt just who my friends really are and one or two who are sad sacks:salute::

Anyhoo, I do agree with you re the pm'ing thing, I 've lost count of the times a friend has written and said ' so and so wrote to me and said you said this about me, is it true' and its always 'nope I didn't':rolleyes2: Truly pathetic and something akin to the primary school (if that's what they are still called these days)

It would be so beneficial to this forum if things could be discussed in a calm manner that avoids confrontation and ill feeling and the endless deletions.

You and I have crossed swords several times often in heated circumstances on here , its part of the forum experience sometimes, but contrary to popular belief I do not shout down people who have a legit complaint about anything, but if people are going to make things personal with either collectors or Andy himself I believe those people have a right to answer in a similar manner, its only human nature.

Lets see how things pan out now!

Cheers

Rob
