Too bad it's not likely going to help with WWII figures. But there are lots of popular eras where masses of figures can be used. Civil War, Redcoats, Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Renaissance pikemen, medieval archers. A block of 20 pikemen or archers or a understrength company of Redcoats for say $300 would be much more affordable than the $1000 they would cost today

This brilliant setup deserves a at least 60 or so marcing figures behind it and in front............................^&grin

I remember when I lived in the UK there was a comedy programme on the TV, unfortunately most of the guys on this forum might not get this but the main charactor was called Victor Meldrew, I think he has arrived on this forum.

Going back to the display, absolutly brillant :)

I hope the people you're refering to do not have "One foot in the grave"

I'm guessing for LAH, ACW ,Naps there will be lots possible in resin, but I wonder if there will be able to be much for combat WW2 figures? I mean if you took say the Commandos or D Day Brits/US figures and produced say standing firing, kneeling firing, grenade throw etc that might work? Buying those figs in say two or three's would be ok wouldn't it and would allow for bigger combat dio scenes. Question would be is that viable production wise?

Rob

Would be ideal for dead soldiers and animals ( horses in particular)and all the diorama stuff ( barrels, jerrycans, tools, etc ...)in my humble opinion. You could put more dead soldiers in your displays and add lots of extra detail at a reasonable price . It is better that the rest of the releases remains in metal. Resin could also replace the heavy polystone in buildings and in some bigger vehicles.

John,

If I've got this right metal figures will remain the main product with resin figures to augment numbers in a dio to make it cheaper to create larger scenes. Haven't you been buying from CS for a while now????

No need to worry ! The non metal figures are an add on line which means the metal figures will continue to be around. No one ever said these were "Replacing" the current line of metal figures !
Just gives the collecting community more options.

Interesting to see all the wants and not wants in relation to the new figure type.

Some of those that are not known to collect Alamo or even anything pre 1900 dont appreciate the new cheaper
type figures and how it may affect their WW2 metal figure collecting. Next stage will be WW2 collectors
complaining about cheaper ACW/Naps even though they dont collect them.

A classic case of cant please all of the people all of the time.

If you dont collect Alamo or series that might eventually have such figures dont begrudge those who may have the
opportunity to have more choices.

Wayne ,

Been thinking...Andy has when faced with suggestions of how about some Hungarians or Polish or Romanians , that there is concern the lines may not sell well...We've also heard that about the French & the Russian's as well in the past...
Does this ( Plastic Line ) afford Andy a chance to experiment ?! Maybe a set of Polish infantry or cavalry ?! Romanian,Hungarian or Bulgarian infantry ?!
Greek infantry ?! If one or more of the lines does well , maybe Andy does an officer or special figure of that set in metal ?!
Well that's how i would think of it...With the 38t already having been made , it would be a repaint away from joining any one of Germany's axis satellite nations...I for one would be a great fan of seeing some of Germany's allies be represented...Also another of my favorites the Finn's...
Here's to hoping !!

Joe

just few examples of what could be done....
