Hi Guys,
Earlier today my good friend Colonel Paul Simadas from Sydney, Australia very kindly sent me a few photographs of an amazing and spectacular toy soldier parade that was on display at the recent OMSS (ONTARIO Model Soldier Show) in Toronto.
The display consisted of King & Country’s ‘Black Watch’ parading down a street somewhere in bonnie Scotland circa 1910.
As you can see the setting was simply superb and the parade quite perfect as these ‘kilties’ proudly marched through the town led by their regimental ‘Pipes & Drums’… 24 pipers & drummers including of course, 1 x drum major.
Behind the band was the mounted Colonel accompanied by his personal bugler.
Following behind were, I think, a full platoon of 42 Other Ranks with rifles and bayonets fixed plus their marching officer with sword drawn.
To the platoon’s rear was the Regimental Colour Party comprising two Subalterns carrying the King’s Colour (the Union Jack) and the Regiment’s own Standard complete with its many Battle Honours.
Three Colour Sergeants protect the ‘Colours’, again with rifles and bayonets fixed .
Bring up the tail end of the parade was another squad of ‘Jocks’, 12 strong, plus their officer.
This stunning parade was the fine work of Mr. Rick Moore of Canada.
Fantastic work Rick… Many congratulations and thankyou for including our figures in your excellent display.
Very best wishes and… Happy Collecting!
