I have started to make a church to replace the Conte one I have. I wargame in 1:30 and have been slowly converting the commercial buildings I have to scratch built....the two pics should give you a a hint on scale against the Conte church. I am planning on runnig two games at Historicon in July with this as the centerpiece. It is contructed with Gatorboard and I have just started on the roof structure. I will try something new for the exterior as I have ordered some laser cut sheets that look like stone for the majority of the skin. It is two sections for ease of transport and so that the non-steeple end can be replaced with a damaged section...Church 2.jpgchurch 1.jpg

Love churches in diorama's so looking forward to seeing end result. The photo appears to indicate the steeple will slightly taller than the Conte one and I am guessing you are making a non ruin. Robin.

I am looking forward to seeing the end result and welcome to the forum.

Correct on the size, as I did research I found the proportions need adjusting. Also the structure will be in two main pieces...the "alter end" and the "steeple end" as well as the steeple being in a few piecws also. I am planning on having the "alter end" be replacable with a ruin/damaged module similar to the inspiration piece. I have had the oportunity to see and play on the Ken Osen diorama that Michigan Toy Soldier/Old Northwest Traiding Co had one year at Historicon...it was amazing and I am striving for a similar gaming table.

I have started on the roof structure buildup so will post some more pictures this week.

Updates to the church construction. Have two games listed at Historicon. The board will be 6 X 13 when its done. The last picture gives some idea on scale with two of the largest K & C vehicles.
