1/30 Scale Vehicles (1 Viewer)

Just a thought, but you cannot really display these guys with K and C, Figarti or HB because non of those companies seem to actually do a Stalingrad range. That is because they do not think it a viable period to produce. The Stug is a Stalingrad Stug so it cannot be used for BOB, DFunkirk, Western Desert etc so the issue of compatibility should not really arise.

Beautiful post, terrific point, the one I have been trying to make over and over and it falls on deaf ears.

The FL are not designed "TO GO WITH" anyone elses figures, they are a stand alone display and besides, noone else has done Stalingrad.

That said, why all the angst over scale considering you will not be displaying these with any other figures.

Lord all mightly.

Thank you Damian.

I agree, I only collect Napoleonics but I think that this Stug is awesome. From the images, I would be proud to display this piece on its own. I used to build Tamiya tank models and for me the one draw back to other company's tanks was the crude appearance of the wheels and tracks. If Matt ever released a Sherman, I would have to give it serious thought.

George,

While the range is intended to stand alone, and no one else has specifically addressed Stalingrad, as you are well aware K&C has produced Russians and Germans that could be used on the Eastern Front, as has Honour Bound, and even Figarti. People who have these figures (myself included) may want to mix and match, especially in a large diorama format.

That being said, I don't see a problem, as the figures are close enough size wise that they can be used together.

As far as the painting style, well, foreground and background positioning of figures with different styles of painting should overcome that issue.

Frankly, I think that at this level of expense ($50 per figure, $300-$350 per vehicle), very few collectors are going to afford the 100+ figures, 10+ vehicles necessary to populate a good sized urban battlefield diorama if they chose only FL products.

I'm not so sure. While I certainly have real limits on what I can commit to this hobby, I haven't had too much of a problem committing to those numbers for a Napoleonic theme. You may substitute 3-4 cavalry figures for each tank, which is about right.;):D

As to all the rest, the numbers are what they are on size and folks may or may not elect to put them together but as my friend Bob (UKReb) has wisely noted before, it is how they look not how big they are that is important, whether separate or together.

Hi Matt! You are going to make your vehicles 1/32 to go along with your figures and FOV ? Correct?
Thanks
E

:D The vehicles are 100% 1/30th scale. This I know for a fact as there is no deviation as to the height of a stug, it doesn't have a base, and it doesn't wear a helmet.
