Ten years today!

I can't forget what a useless blood bath WW One was. Afganistan is the sad drip drip drip that could have been over back at Tora Bora and could have been over a couple months ago in Pakistan.

My respects go to the troops still there, to those who lost their lives and, their families.

Only, 90 more to go{eek3}! The enemy does not expect to win this war today, tomorrow next week or even years from now. They are in it for the long haul and their mentality is to fight a 100 year war.

So you think that the First Afgan war was similar to the modern conflict? Surely if you want to learn from history the lesson should be "don't give weapons and training to people that will then turn them on you"

Or don't forget them after they do the heavy lifting for you.

Amen!

Very true. These fanatics have been fighting this war since 624 AD. Afghanistan is merely one battlefield, or one campaign, out of many.
