For those coming from out of town, please indicate if you would like to stay at the Cornell Club and which nights you are interested in staying, so that I can book a block of rooms. Thank you and hope to see you there!

Re: 2007 New York Toy Soldier Symposium / R.S.V.P.

Louis , my sincerest thanks & appreciation to Larry , Hans & yourself for again hosting the symposium that was so enjoyable last year. To say a very good time was had by all would be a gross understatement. For the members on the forum who do not know Louis , Larry or Hans personally words do not begin to express how welcome they made my friend Mike & I feel at dinner . It is rare in a hobby (or perhaps anywhere) that people will extend themselves so much for the enjoyment of others . Mike & I have been looking forward to the symposuim ALL year & would like to attend. The only problem I have is I cohabitate with a young & very attractive Brazilian girl , who keeps repeating (with a Brazilian accent) "Louis & Larry said I can come " - "so you better bring me" !! Now if I were to take the Baldalato approach & send her say to a salon or on a shopping spree , that would severely drains my funds for my K & C purchases at the show , oh what am I to do...... So if Andy brings some pics or samples of the new Fallschirmjaegers the world would be a perfect place (well almost).

Bring her along. I used to live in Brasil (the correct spelling) and she and I can talk football. Tell her I have a huge photo of the Brasilian team in my office.

Louis

Is it true you have a shooting range in your basement of your home???

Ron

No, the shooting range is in the basement of my club, not my home. We can shoot after dinner at the club if we want to.

The Saturday Night dinner at Tse Yang is now fully booked. There is still some room for the Friday night opening dinner at my club and plenty of room for the Saturday afternoon event at my home/K&C museum. As Hans, Larry and I are meeting Thursday to finalize the plans, please get your requests for Friday Night/Saturday Afternoon in by Wednesday night.

Just an update. Rick from Figarti has indicated that he will not be able to attend do to business exigencies in China, but his father will be joining us in his stead.

Hey Louis,do you think you could give us a write up of your symposium for all of us who can't cross the pond?.

Best regards

Rob

A couple of the regulars have cancelled on us, so there are 2-3 openings for the Symposium. Anyone who hasn't committed to coming who is interested in joining us, let me know on this thread.

Very best wishes to you all, sorry I can't make it this year. Thanks to Louis, Hans and Larry for their hospitality.

James Wang of Figarti just called me to confirm he will be coming by to attend my open house on Saturday. I can't tell you how honored I am to have three of the most talented, influential and genuinely nice people in the Toy Soldier Industry in my home: Andy Neilson, Gordon Neilson and James Wang.

Only 5 days to go!

What will the parking situation be?

I can fit about 7-8 cars in my driveway, and diagnonally across the street is a parking lot for a museum, so there should be ample parking. Is your dad going to join us at any of the events?

Yeah - Poppa Jon will be there. We're able to head over to your place for the talk with Andy. we are both going to be at the soldier show in NJ on Sunday and will probably need the evenings to prepare.
