2008 favorite releases and biggest disappointments (1 Viewer)

That was a nice price, I fear to think what the next one will cost.

If based on the latest MRPs for the lancers and the continental gun set ... I'll say, 7 horsed figures at USD80 each and an artillery piece & caisson at USD100 ... the estimated retail price would perhaps be between USD650 to USD750

It will probably lean towards the higher end of the estimate ... and be a Very limited edition run.

Gun teams anyone ?

I agree!!! plus, no men at arms this round? come on!!! what's with most of the knights just standing holding their banners or just sitting on their horses holding a banner. we need more knights charging.

I think all of the WWII manufacturers (Figarti, KC, CS, etc.) did an outstanding job with their releases; they all showed improvements, creativity and innovation.

The only real disappointment is in WWII 1/32 scale which has been abandoned and left to decay. When I first happened upon this hobby almost 5 years ago, WWII was dominated by 1/32 and KC’s 1/30 scale. What a difference five years can make; even FOV and 21st Century seem to be on the brink.

Anyone else lamenting the disappearance of 1/32 scale in metal from WWII? Or, is it simply “survival or the fittest” giving way to today’s superior 1/30 scale choices?

I’m just wondering,

I also agree. I started out with 1/32nd scale figures and vehicles and it seems they have hit a dead end. I then made the switch over to K&C 1/30th.
They have a wide variety of figures, vehicles and future vehicles with their WW2 line. I'm disappointed with the makers of 1/32nd.:(:(

I also started out WW2 in 1/32 but made the switch to 1/30. Have cleared out all 1/32 WW2 but have decided to stay with 1/32 for WW1. Britains & ONWT make an excellent product and I am in too deep to switch scales. That said, if KC does WW1 French I will get them as a seperate display. I think 1/30 is the way to go though. -- lancer

Size is the obvious difference but what is the big deal between 1/32 and 1/30? I have a mixture of both and I think quality and detail depend on the maker and the painter not necessarily size.

Style for me is usually a bigger problem than size. K&C has a mix of 1/30th and 1/32nd sized figs. but since the style is the same it still works together.
