SC and ND this weekend. Should be a good one. The ND defense looks soft which should be fatal against SC. Prediction SC 40 ND 17 - unless there is a blizzard.

Prediction 31-24 ND wins and ends the drought against SC. SC defense is suspect as well after the loss to Washington. Oh yeah, ND beat Washington :D

If there is anything suspect about SC it is not the defense. Maybe a freshman QB. BTW: The ND defense is ranked 110th out of 119 teams. ;)Should be a great game as always.

As the lone Wildcat fan (not only on the forum, but possibly in the universe), I'll stick up for my 'Cats. Don't take them lightly or they will sneak up on you! These aren't the Mildcats of days gone by (when I was there!).

Should be a great game as always.

Easy for you to say. SC has been blowing us out for many years now. The last close contest wa when Brady Quinn was Qb and they blew it in the final minute playing their stupid prevent "D".

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!Another great loss for ND. Both teams played a great game both teams should hold their heads high. 1st my Tigers, now my Irish whos next?????? Please don't let it be the Wings.

SC was 0-4 against ND when I was going there. So the 8-0 string does wonders. A great game from two great programs. Fight on for old SC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was it just me or did Clausen take forever to snap the ball after the penalty that moved them to the 4. I think if they used a little better time management they could have tried a run, used their last time out then threw if they didn't score on the run. I can only hope that the majority of the ND offense returns next year.

Alabama #1. They have a few good teams down in Dixie. Still see no one better than the SEC group. -- lancer

After a year with very few upsets, we are finally getting some excitement in the post season. Meyers resigning at Florida - then not. The Leach circus at Texas Tech. You couldn't make that stuff up. Anyone remember Woody (the angriest man to ever live) Hayes throat punching the Clemson player? He refused to ever apologize. He also grabbed a ref on the next play and got called for a penalty.

Those were the days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEVJyf0ft3I

Congratulations to Navy. Great finish to a great season for them. USNA rules! -- lancer

Anybody got any thoughts on the Bama-Texas game? I think Bama should win, especially if they can get on top fast. Could be real interesting if McCoy can manage a big game. -- lancer

When it that game anyway, June?

They are really milking this bowl thing, aren't they; the Orange Bowl was last night, four days after New Years.

Man have they ruined the whole New Years Day bowl tradition, I remember when they used to actually play bowl games on New Years Day; Cotton, Rose, Orange and Sugar all in one day, now they spread them out over a week, idiotic.

As far as the game, Bama should roll, Texas is lucky to even be in the game were it not for the second put back on the clock vs Nebraska.

That said, Texas will probably blow them out.

It seems like every year for the past few years, one team comes out flat in this game, maybe it's the close to two month layoff that does it.................

Bama has too much talent from top to bottom. Not many weaknesses. They stomped a very good Florida team that could beat Texas by 14 or more. This could be another ugly NC game. But it's college football so almost anything is possible.

My prediction:

Alabama 38
Texas 20

You hit the nail on the head, George. Tracking all these bleeping bowl games is a full time job. I miss the old Jan. 1 blitz. Looked forward to it every year. So far this season I have only watched Navy, the Rose Bowl, and will watch Bama. I would love to see a return to the former schedule. The BCS is a failed attempt. -- Al

Al, sadly as in all sports whether they be pro or college it comes down to one word; money, end of story.

The more they spread out the games, the more revenue they make, that is it, plain and simple.

The bowls are watered down, all of the playoffs in pro sports are watered down, the more watered down it gets, the less it appeals to me........................

Texas gave it a good fight. Bama just has too much talent. No way to beat them with a backup QB.

BTW: just saw a documentary on cable called "Harvard beats Yale 29-29". That brings back the days when college football was an amateur sport.
