2013 Tour de France (2 Viewers)

This Colombian rider is really amazing!

Guess he couldn't hang on. Looks like Chris Broome has grabbed it and will now wear Yellow. He must be exhausted but is not acting like it.

Yes well done Chris, great finishing power

He did well very well......The success of solo break-aways in the high mountains in modern times is rare........but a brave effort by the Colombian...we haven't seen the last of him...The Sky team did a great job bringing him back.......the Pain in the Pyrenees continues.....^&grin

Hi,

The best cyclist is AICAR. He runs for the team TB-500

Its early yet...But Froome is off to a good start with over a minute lead on the 3rd place rider....His team mate Richie Porte will not attack him....Team Orders....Froome may be beatable in the mountains but if he can really time trial he will likely win this TDF....Andy Schleck is hurting, Cadel Evans is too old, Contador may challenge Froome if he can find his climbing legs but generally is not a good time trialist.....That doesn't leave much competition left for the Yellow Jersey.... We shall see.

AICAR is simply the best. What I like in TB 500 team is that's an international team. This team can win the Giro, the Vuelta and many more races.

Have a nice we

I find myself sometimes oblivious to the race as I enjoy the beautiful French countryside and scenic high mountains. Le Tour is now in the Pyrenees with the Alps to come next week. The remarkable enthusiasm of the spectators lining the route in every stage never ceases to amaze. Corsica was a real treat with its rustic countryside and lovely coastline. When Le Tour was in Corsica for the first three days, I was thinking about one of our forum members who lives on Corsica.

It has been said that the tour is won in the mountains. While that may not always be the case, the Sky ProCycling team may just pull this one off. If Sky can get their team strategy, stage tactics and rider discipline right, they should be able to defend the maillot jaune to the Champs-Elysees in Paris in two week's time. The other GC contenders will be expected to attack for sure. A lot can happen in two weeks, so it just ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Couldn't agree more Raymond. The scenery is stunning, so beautiful. Myself and my wife sit here saying we gotta go there!:smile2:

I almost made it the Tour one year. The Tour used to go through Pau and we had a manufacturing agreement with a company there and I was going to be heading to Pau for some negotiations on an amendment just as the Tour would have come through but unfortunately they got rescheduled. Pau is not far from the Spanish border and it's beautiful down there. Exquisite food as well.

Hi Rob,

Many thanks for your kind comments. The Grand Depart 2014 of the 101st Edition of the Tour de France is in Yorkshire. John (Obee) from Perth, W.A. told me about this when he was in town last month. It would be good to attend the June London Toy Soldier Show and the Grand Depart in one trip to England. I would love to visit the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Here is a preview video presented by Phil Liggett:

Hi Raymond,

Yes me and my good lady are thinking of heading North for a couple of days next year to see the start, would be something really worth seeing I think.

And you would be made very welcome at the show too my friend!:salute::

The Tour passed through Dinan today. We were there several years ago and it's a beautiful ville, a place I always wanted to go back to and maybe retire there. I think I even saw the hotel where we stayed. Great scenery of Dinan.

Sounds lovely Brad, there is some beautiful scenery along the way and I can indeed imagine a charming place to retire.

Time trials today.

Rob,

From our visit and what I saw yesterday, Dinan is a popular destination for British tourists as it's not that far from the Channel Islands. We drove there from Paris before then going to Mt. San Michel and Normandy.

Well that sounds a wonderful trip mate, might suggest this to my better half.

I neglected to add that after we were finished in Normandy, we took a ferry from Cherbourg to Southampton and then a train to London where we saw the sights for a few days and then home :(

Apparently someone threw urine at Cavendish today, you gotta wonder about a person who would throw urine at anyone for any reason...let alone a sporting event!{eek3}
