2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (2 Viewers)

The Baby Bombers are one win away from the World Series! George, looks like the ex-Kamikaze pilot isn’t that bad after all! Still playing with house money, and getting way more than I hoped for, this postseason has been so much fun for me! No matter what happens in Houston this season has been great!!

Louis,

You need to stop with this Baby Bombers stuff and house money line. They are now hardened veterans and have proved they belong there. They cuffed around one of the best pitchers in the game. Kids don’t do that. Now that they have a lead, they need to take advantage of this opportunity because you never know if you’ll get another.

I’d like to think the Cubs will win a game but I doubt it.

Brad

Sure called this one, George. The ex-Kamikaze pilot has the Astros falling on their own knives and it's back to Houston with all the pressure on the Astros. Let me know what Lotto numbers you plan on playing. -- Al

The record for futility in a 7 game series belongs to the 1966 Dodgers, who hit a robust .142 in the World Series; the Astors are currently batting .147.

.147.

How is that even possible.

Since you asked for a prediction;

Verlander will pitch his *** off, Severino will do his Gibson impression and the MFY's will scratch out a run or two, then break it open vs that tire fire of a Astors bullpen and thankfully this national nightmare will be over, only to begin again when Quasimodo leads the baby bombers as Louis calls them (more on that in a moment) into the WS vs the Dodgers.

As far as the baby bombers, house money and "hey golly gee isn't it swell the MFY's got this far"; this ain't the 67 Red Sox, 69 Mets, 88 Dodgers, 90 Reds or any other sad sack team that came out of nowhere to get to a WS.

This is the MFY's with the 27 WS titles, a team that spends money like it's going out of style and has a fan base that expects to win a WS every year, so knock it off already............................and they'll be going up against the team with the best record in MLB this year, they have very good starting pitching, timely hitting, great defense and a lights out bullpen, they won't pee down their collective legs at the sight of pinstripes like the Tribe and especially the Astors did.

I mean.......really...........just honest to Christ.

Ah, 1966, the glory days of the Baltimore Orioles. The Dodgers record low BA. of .142 was possible because it was a short series, the O's swept, and the Dodgers scored 2 runs in Game 1 and that was it as they were shut out the last 3 games. A time for those who love pitching. Game scores were 5-2, 6-0, 1-0, 1-0 and that was all she wrote. -- Al

I was living in Barcelona when that happened and listened to the games on Armed Forces Radio on our short wave radio, crackles and all; great way to listen to a game. It was a shocking result and the beginning of the Orioles rise, managed by the ex-Yankee Hank Bauer.

Wade Davis is a shadow of the reliever he was two years ago. With the number of pitches he’s thrown, I don’t know how he makes it through the 9th.

Davis gutted it out and they’re flying the “W” tonight in Chicago. Let’s see if they can get to Kershaw on Thursday and make the series interesting.

There will be no Davis tonight, according to the Chicago papers although Davis said he will see how he's feeling when he gets to the ballpark. They got a very good performance out of Arrieta last night, as he pitched into the 7th. That's what they need out of Quintana tonight. What they really need though is for the lineup to hit, which it is not doing. If it doesn't, the series will end tonight.

I never liked the 2-3-2 format in any sport. The Astros come in with home field advantage, win both home games, but are now facing two elimination games. Imagine playing 162+ plus games and when the playoffs start they are suddenly concerned about travel.

It’s been that way ever since I can remember. Frankly, I like it and wasn’t too keen on the switch the NBA made to a 2-2-1-1-1 format.

Quintana was terrible tonight; the Cubs are down 3-0 and the Dodgers have the bases loaded with no one out.

The Dodgers just won the Pennant with a grand slam.

There will be a new WS Champ.

Just switched over to the Thursday night game.

Darling had a great line; "The Dodgers have scored 7 runs in this game, the Cubs have scored 7 runs the entire series"...........

Adios Cubs.

News flash! Cubs hold Dodgers scoreless in the 5th, trail by only 8 runs. This thing ain't over yet!:rolleyes2: -- Al

With the Dodgers now in the WS I am truly hoping the Yankees also make it (I was already cheering for them because of Louis). MLB is the only one of the four major North American sports without a salary cap and for me there is something compelling about watching the two teams with the highest payrolls vying for the title.

Yep. Want to see NYY vs Dodgers, too. Nothing against Houston, but the NYY's are the only team I have any interest in. I need them to get in so I can watch the series. If it's Astros/Dodgers I'm afraid I'll go into full football mode. -- Al

Congrats to the Dodgers. I was huge fan back in the 70s and 80s but have generally lost interest in the sport. But I'm glad to see them back in the WS. My recollection from those days is that the Yankees generally had their number whenever they met up in the big show. I hope that is not the case this year, but history seems to repeat itself. LA looks like the better team but you can usually throw that out the window with the Yankees. I'm not counting the Astros out yet though. I still can't believe they are in the AL but here's hoping they take the Yanks to seven and each team uses a hundred pitchers until they are worn out.

I wouldn't mind a old school Yanks- Dodger rematch, be better if it were a Oriole- Dodger rematch buttttttttt........ :)
