Mets land Lindor from Cleveland. Nice. -- Al
It's official, Mad Dog Russo has crowned the New York Mets as the new Kings of New York. NYY's now playing catch-up for the hearts and minds of NYC's residents.
The NL East is going to be a VERY interesting division in 2021. The Nats have lost ground to both the Braves and the Mets and will have to scramble to finish higher than third place unless Rizzo gets a move on. -- Al
Tommy Lasorda has passed away at the age of 93.
He went out a winner.
Thanks Tommy for 1981; 1988, not so much.

Those A's teams of the late 1980's were loaded, three strait trips to the WS, they blew two of them to lesser teams..........................
NYY's have spent a bundle over the last 24 hours; LeMahieu @ $90 mil for 6 years; Kluber @ $11 mil for 1 year and Judge @ $10.175 mil for 1 year. As ABBA once said, 'Money, money, money, it's a rich mans game.' -- AlThe Yankees signed Kluber, two time Cy Young award winner who's been out of baseball the past two years with injuries.
Guaranteed now he'll go 23-1 and win the Cy Young.
2021 sucks already.

The Giants signed pitcher Alex Wood on Thursday to a 1 year, $3 mil deal.
In 2020 he was 0-1 with a 6.39 ERA.
All of those “recent” Championships seem like they happened 800 years ago......
I am looking at the Red Sox fighting it out with the LET'S GO O'S!! for last place in the AL East, so needless to say the MLB season for me this year will be another anti climatic one.
When you're in the same division with the gashouse gorillas who are back to their old spending ways and those plucky Doofin Rays, it is what it is.
George;
Yup, you have the Yankees and Rays and I have the Dodgers and the Padres.
It’ll be a while before SF or Boston plays meaningful games, but at least we have some semi-recent memories of a championship or 2.

The Red Sox and Giants this century have won 7 World Series titles between the 2 of them, so a few down years is not the end of the world.
I'll gladly take a few down years in exchange for 7 World Series titles between my two favorite teams.
