As an old paratrooper myself, This is a Homage to the 101st and 82nd as they got ready to jump into Normandy that I built for a friend who is a large K&C collector and was featured in Toy Soldier magazine last year. The scene depicts, using K&C's great airborne troops, them getting geared up to board the C-47 and Horsa glider the night of the jump. The control tower and hanger are both detailed on the inside....may have gone a bit over board as even the waste cans have authentic documents in them and the hanger has a ping pong table..... As Andy always says, each vignette should always tell a story, so tried to group them in such a way that each one does. The one group shown here shows the iconic picture of IKe meeting the paratroopers before they embarked. Best part...I got to spend a week at my friends house going through his collection and setting this whole thing up for him.

Thanks Steve-it was the first large one I did, and taught me a lot. Here's a pic of a late construction phase plus a couple of others

What a center piece. You really put a lot of thought into this. Great display.

ALL of your displays are true works of ART, all capable of a center stage showcase in a museum. :salute::
As has been mentioned, the detail is incredible. I love the "MAP" room diorama. That is something that so seldom seen here on the fourm
Really glad that you came aboard and showed us your talent.

Thanks Steve-I was happy with the results, as was my friend-best part as i said was using his collection to fill it out the scene

Thanks for the kind words Larry. I try and put in the small details as I want people to find something new they missed every time they look at the diorama. A lot of the hanger detail as example was kit bashed from old model kits or the excellent old Marx plastic furniture that Hobby Bunker sells.
