Going back a page or two Ray - I absolutely adore the three 30mm figures of Edward III plus Standard Bearers at Crecy (1346), as engraved by Wolfgang Friedrich, (below).

Would you happen to know - If - and where they might be available to buy as castings chum?? They are just gorgeous - and maybe he did more?????! jb

Hey Jb,
Hope all is well, My understanding is this is the tip of the Iceberg so to speak as the Crecy line is expanded and continues to grow. I've been searching a bit and I haven't had much luck yet, but I do Have Herr Freidrich's address in Germany, but have no idea about email or distribution.
I've thought about Google translating and printing a letter to ask the questions but haven't done so yet.
I'll keep you posted, let me know if I can be of help to you.
Ray
P.S. I've posted something new on my flats thread I think you'll enjoy :wink2:

Cheers buddy - yes - it's not always easy to find and then buy them - but that's half the fun. These are drop-dead-gorgeous - so if and when you find out how to actually buy some of them ( and if it's a Crecy line - I'll have 'em all!^&grin) - then just let me know ( and vice-versa - if I find out first). I already have some of these characters - albeit - in a larger/fatter size! :cool jb

Hello Ray,
follow this link and you will find plenty of his excellently painted figures switch to contact and write him an Email
http://www.zinnfigurenfreunde-leipzig.de/hwf.htm
Kind Regards
Wolfgang

P.S.
Push the flimmering yellow and red sign that says "Neu" to reach the contact (Kontakt button)

See Ray - this is what I mean about NOT making it easy to buy Flats.

I followed Wolfgang's good instructions - to get to the web-site - got to it - lovely illustrations - licked my lips.................. pressed the "NEU" button - and found displayed the Catalogue, and Contact buttons - pressed them ...................AND................Nothing. Duh!!!{sm2}

Can't get the boxes to work - so can't request catalogue or order any of the Crecy range. Why not just give us an e-mail address????????? jb

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
- it worked fine when I used it last time but it is obviously as Johnny Bach wrote at the moment parts of the homepage are down and can´t be reached. But there is still his telephone number clearly visible on the page and if you type in those numbers guess who is answering ?

He can also be reached at his Emailadress: wofrie@hotmail.de
If you need any further help just let me know.

Thanks Wolfgang - I always hesitate to Telephone to countries where I don't speak the language at all well - and I regret that the German speaking nations are some of these. I can just about count to ten - and order a beer and a sausage in Deutsch - but that's about it - so thanks for the e-mail address.:D

I'll give him a try by e-mail right now - thanks again Wolfgang.

This might be something peculiar to Leipzig adresses for flats - as I have tried and failed before - to ask for a catalogue from B&S Leipzig - who have a beautifully presented online catalogue - but the printed web-site address gets you ...............nowhere! jb

Thank you for your further assistance Wolfgang, this should make thing easier, even if it may take a little sorting out.
I also read that the Crecy line is 70 figures which I believe is the complete line.

Hello Ray,
you are more than welcome. As I understand it, a family member of the gentleman who caters for Mr Friederich´s Homepage has passed away and all efforts to sort out the current bugs at his new HP are put on hold. That is why the current appearence of his HP is as it is.
Besides Mr. Friedrich has basic knowledge of the english language and for anything that might be above his hat he uses Google translater.
He was able to help english speaking customers before.
As I allready wrote in my answer to JB, if I can be of any assistance I am glad to help - after all, this is one major benefit of an international forum.
I have received help here in the past as well.
Kind Regards
Wolfgang

Hi Wofgang - and Ray. Thanks to you both for the conversations. Thanks also W, for the e-mail address of Herr Freidrich. I have sent the following message, ( for which which I used an online Translator) - which asks for a Catalogue and prices of his Crecy range of 30mm Zinnfiguren.

This is why I much prefer to compose and write in other languages - rather than telephone - and not understand, if the person at the other end doesn't speak English, French or Welsh! :D

" Konen Sie bitte senden Sie mireinen Katalog fur Ihre Crecy 30mm Zinnfiguren mit preise. Vielen Dank" Then added my name and address.

I will let you know, how I get on, thanks both. :D Johnnybach

Hi JB,
thank you very much for your reply, well online Translaters are a very helpful tool and I am sure he will understand your request. As for future cases you also might want to use my attached drafted letter - we like polite letters as much as you do. {sm4}
Kind Regards
Wolfgang

Thanks a lot for your help Wolfgang - most useful. I will certainly keep your messages safely for future use. Incidentally, I have already had a reply to my translated request to Herr Freidrich. He advised me that a catalogue is available - priced at €4 plus €3.45 for postage - but offered me a free one by e-mail. I have already replied - and asked for the quicker/cheaper option by e-mail!:D

He sent me a sample pic too (see below - he labels this pair "Bild-22). I think that you and Ray might agree with me - they look just fabulous!

Thanks once again for the e-mail address, especially. jb

Hello JB,
good news, I am happy that you eventually got what you have asked for.
Totally agree with you on the painting quality of this figurines. I think they where
painted by Herr Bähr. I think that the artwork (sketches) for engraving the figures
into the slate plates was done by Mr. Lehnart who is the undisputed great great grandmaster
in germany's Zinnfiguren-Scene when it comes to medival history.
Again enjoy your catalouge hope to see some of his figures painted by you
one of these days ^&grin
But most important, have fun painting and enjoying the hobby
Kind Regards
Wolfgang

Thanks for the additional info - regarding these magnificent figures Wolfgang. I'm in touch with the supplier now (W. Freidrich) - thanks to the e-mail address that you gave me. He sent me a total of 15 pages of line drawn illustrations of the complete set - which include no fewer than 87 figures ( including foot and horseback figures). I think I'll be having the lot - which should keep me happy for a while!:D

Whilst I doubt that I will rival the professionals in eventually painting them - I'll certainly enjoy having a go at them - when they eventually arrive.

Thanks again W - very much appreciated. jb

Thought you might! ^&grin

Well - as it's getting close to Xmas - here's a pressie for you - a peek at the three (plus another) that started it off. King Edward III plus the two Standard/Banner Bearers ( with Lord Hugh, Lord Despencer thrown in for good measure). As you can see - these can be yours for the princely sum of €9.

Now - all we have to do - is buy 'em. Haven't looked into the payment options yet Ray - as by the time we both got in touch and pics sent/downloaded etcetera - it was too late to check it all out. As you can see below, they come in small groups - with price shown for each set. I'll find out more tomorrow. Hope he does Paypal.;) Thanks for the lead Ray - jb
