I was recently given 4 small dioramas that were made by a retired friend who is a architect, and die-cast collector, so I thought I'd pose some of my figures onto them and now show of his, and my work in this Forum.
Chris is part of our local toy soldier group, but is mainly a collector of die-cast vehicles, but has taken up toy soldier collecting too. In the past few years, with all the commemoration events of World War One, has was spurred onto displaying some of his collection, and so using his professional skills in model making, had expanded into diorama building. For his WW1 and WW2 scenes, I paint 1/35 scale plastic figures for him that he assembles, and then displays with his vehicles.
These 4 small diorama use drink coaster sized MDF which are then fitted to a polystyrene base, then decorated with his spare parts, like walls, and then the base material added. These particular bases were designed for Europe scenes, hence my Napoleonic figures.
