.... or Siege of Vienna and those beautiful Polish Winged Hussars!
Whoa!! Now that would be really nice!! Not something I would collect but no doubt they would be fantastic.

No seriously, let's hope for a new line; how about the Thirty Years War or Siege of Vienna and those beautiful Polish Winged Hussars!
The Thirty Years War would be interesting but the Winged Hussars would certainly do nothing for me. The original concept was simply too strange and I can't imagine trying to ride or, much less, fight in such an absurd costume. Both Great wishes , I'd love to see what First Legion would come up with It's strange that you mention Polish Winged Hussars I just finished watching 1612 for the 6th time and Thirty Years War has got my vote many many times .. That would be a site to behold Man just too many choices

Gebhard, that is an impressive group of pics. That wouldn't be part of your personal collection would it...

I will claim total ignorance of that part of history but what the you-know-what is that wing supposed to do? Make them fly?
Btw, those horses look like horses should. Of course, they're a lot more bloody expensive so they better look great
Yes and according to accounts it worked against unseasoned troops and horses but not so much against professional soldiers. What really made them formidable was the length of their lances. I am pleased for those of you that like them but they just appear rather over the top to me; rather like rock stars on horseback. I think this is a case of each to his own.Not quite, but to make a hell of a racket when at full charge, sort of putting the wind up the enemy to unnerve them.

Hi Noah ,
Actually this are figures I carved and painted myself . They started out as a grain of rice , I painted them with a special brush made from the pub** hair of an Ant . I used the Hubbel Telescope to paint the finer details . Only making a joke
LOL, good one Brad!!!!I wonder if the use of troops like these helps to explain why Poland has had a difficult time maintaining its independence until recently.

Well played sir, well played.
As far as the Winged Hussars, I still say there are not my thing. There are a number of other things that I would like to see long before these. But, I do think First Legion could do a great job on these, if they choose too. But then, I would say that about pretty much anything First Legion wanted to attempt!

Well Geb, I can understand your passion and certainly the figures you posted are artful and beautiful. If that is your collection, I am not sure why you need FL to do these, unless you really was a whole squadron. If not, I certainly can get it. As long as it doesn't divert them from some absolute must haves, I hope you get your wish.Hi Noah ,
That's really the only problem that I have with First Legion , Whatever they touch they do it well . I have been a Military History nut since I can remember , growing up as a child our Library was 80% Military , I Love it all . I really can't think of a period in Military History that I don't have at least some interest . I don't collect some periods but still like to pick up a book and transport myself to that time period . When I see the Winged Hussars , I think of what it would have been like to be a uneducated peasant who for the most part were very very Religious . I Imagine they would have thought of Angels , seeing these mounted soldiers at full Charge would have been both terrifying and beautiful to behold . Check out this two videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9x5ADYWXeo&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOlzBU89Mns ... I have always thought they were kick *** , the elite Calvary of the day .. I would buy a First Legion version in a heart beat Even if as only a stand alone figure .. Best Regards Gebhard
