I had made this figure many years ago. I think that the groundwork is rather dreary and have now decided to change it as an update.

I redid the groundwork, and created a simple fence behind the figure. Grass was scattered on the far side and the figure was posed in front of the fence.

Nice remake of the figure Victor, is he Historex?

I'd love to see a full band, but that's SO much work

Well done,

John

Hello John,

A full band? Isn't that yours and JB's thingee...:)? I'm not into flagellation either...:):):)

This was my second Historex mtd figure (eventually I'll get to my first Historex and other earlier mtd figures in other threads). I used all Historex parts for this figure, substituting the head with a Historex resin head. I tried to avoid the stiff mannikin look by doing extensive modification to all the parts (I had a copy of Bill Ottinger's book as inspiration then). The basic kit was a mtd Chasseurs kit, with hands, bassoon from spares. Main reference for this figure was the series of Bucquoy books.

I have added a twig to represent a tree and also added some tufts of long grass and weeds.

I added more foliage including more twigs to this piece. That's it for this round. Off on the hols!

Hi All,

Just came back from hols. Started to take better pics, black background, expt on exposure, timing, settings etc.

Now that I am in a major Napoleonic refurbishing mode, I dug out this old piece and took a pic of it for ref. Noticed that the photos here were not that great. Anyway, I've decided to add leaves to the tree to set off the piece.

Did I get distracted or what? Anyway, I found some suitable twigs and drilled and attach them to the tree. I also started to add some metal foliage.

Added more metal foliage leaves and painted them. Awaiting final addition of more foliage.
