88 (1 Viewer)

Just got mine, very happy with it, the figures are very well done, particularly the comander and the guy with the ?range finder?. The gun elevates and can swivel round and slots into the body of the truck. Nice one Andy:)

I just took a second look at my WS103, 88.

When I first opened the box, I just messed with the 12t part and not the Cannnon. The 88 is ALL METAL  I didn't know that

The more I see now, the more I'm liking it. ;)

I'd like to thank a couple of you guys for changing my mind on getting this :)

I can see this selling out VERY FAST.

I think it is a very well done piece. Just for the record, isn't this the identical paint scheme off the German (captured) T34 that everyone was praising a few months back?:D

Could someone post a pic of all the figures that come with the 88? Can't really tell what they look like on the web site.

Ok I have seen it at the shop. I took it off the shelf stuck it on the counter moved the guys around (which are very nice) fiddled, poked, and prodded. Stared at it and I am on the fence on this one. It maybe limited to 750 pieces. This we will have to see. As I mentioned the figures are really nice especially the officer and the two loaders. The piece it self well I like the gun. The chasis is sad. Poorly, sloppily painted lacking the crispness that the newest Panzer has. Tread detail is good without all the mud and junk. The weathering is not bad but for the money. I am not sure. This is my opinion only. It lacks something. There are better K&C Tanks for me to get. That I will be doing along with some others as well. Found a NMA Sturmtiger in Winter!

Hey KV, I don't think you should sit on the fence to long for this unique & limited 88 mm, otherwise you might miss out

Btw, it was good news that the gun is made from metal.

I will mine are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday! It looks like another winner!

Got it today! Love everything about it.....looks like another winner for K&C. I'm glad I didn't wait on this one.

Mine arrived today.....both damaged! It is a really impressive piece, and the gun is metal and a bit fragile. I will post photos shortly......after I wipe away the tears!

Sorry to hear that John. One of the worst feeling a collector can experience. Assume you've been on the phone to your dealer already.

Yes, I have several wonderful dealers that provide me with excellent service!
Not the least of which is our hosts here at Treefrog, however this situation did not involve them! It appears to be a packing problem perhaps from the factory. My package was carefully packed, and showed no signs of abuse from the shipping company..........even though Boo chased him to his truck!

Okay here are just a couple of quick shots! I will take more once the situation is resolved and I can put these beasts in the line!

It is a terrific piece, the gun has a lot of detail, the carrier is very nicely detailed, and the figures are the usual high quality we expect from King & Country!

The gun elevates, and can be rotated for all types of options for display. You get one fixed, and four full figures which make a nice set.

What was damaged?

First one had a bent lower piston in 88 Gun if you look closely you can see it in photos.

Second one had a broken weld on frame gear (so gun would not stay elevated) and a broken weld on 88 gun itself.

It is a great piece and you can see that K&C keeps pushing the envelope.

I just had a bit of bad luck with the delivery.

Yeah gee John, too bad about the damage, what are the odds that both had damage.

I'm sure your K & C dealer of choice will make good on replacing both of them; looks like two are headed for the scrap heap, or the ding and dent section, only 748 now officially on the market..................

Sorry but this 88 just does not do it for me......Limited or not I personally think I will pass on this one......Hoping that either Figarti or K/C will do an 88 Flak gun...."not mounted" on a vehicle......also hoping for a gun crew loading and firing.......

I didn't think I would be too thrilled about the 88 either but like a lot of things you have to see it in person to realize how good it is. You'll kick yourself if you don't get. It's really tight.

I received my WS103 today, the 88mm Flak 18 (sf1.) aufZugkraftwagen, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. It is a well-done vehicle with an excellent set of finely detailed figures.

I understand that some collectors are concerned about the price, $239, but when you consider the quality of the figures and the vehicle I believe it is worth the money. With figures selling for $29 per figure, four of them total $116. That brings the value of the vehicle and gun to $123. Perhaps this should have been two sets allowing collectors the option of which set or both to buy. The figures work with the other K&C 88's and the Collectors Showcase version 88 too so some could have purchased just the figures.

Overall I must comment that the detailing on K&C figures is much improved and I am very pleased that the company is taking this improvement seriously.

On the opposite side, I wish it had been issued in German Army Field Grey instead of the camo version. Based on my research, they were used in the early part of the war. I could not find out how many survived to what time so perhaps in K&C' defense, they were painted in camo. But grey would look better. I perhaps should have purchased two, but the price rules that out. $239 plus repainting cost and shipping from my friendly specialist would make this version about $325. I no longer use an airbrush as my skills have declined greatly so I must rely on others to do my repaints for me. What a pisser. But I digress. Nice model, I recommend that fence sitters get one whilst they can.

Funny Michael because Brad and I had this same conversation earlier today; there are actually five crewmen at 29.00 a pop, 145.00 just for the figures, so the vehicle itself is 94.00.

While I understand some collectors issues with it being mounted on the deck of a halftrack, I think it is unique for that very same reason.

As others have pointed out, collectors will soon be searching high and low for this model once they are all gone. It truly has to be seen in person to be appreciated, just my .02.

I saw the reaction of several customers over the weekend at the two shows I attended that were on the fence and then quickly got off the fence once they saw it, glad I brought as many as I did to the shows.........
