Lucky American's Robin, The beast has run out of fuelCapturing a Tiger intact, is some achievement. Most often it’s by a tail shot. Very dangerous beast for sure. Robin.
Thanks MikeA very interesting setup Paul and I am sure there's an even more interesting story behind it as to how this big cat was captured in tact
Mike
Breakdown? Ran out of fuel, i think they had the reliability of Chevrolet, read somewhere that it was 10 hours maintenance for every 1 hour in action, whereas the Sherman was around 1 hour maintainance for 12 hours out in the field. People with way more indepth knowledge will know more.A very interesting setup Paul and I am sure there's an even more interesting story behind it as to how this big cat was captured in tact

Those US troops were luck to find a Tiger 1, The Chieftain [Nicholas Moran] has pointed out he thinks they only engaged them 3 or 4 times from D Day to VE Day.
Paul - I think one of the Yanks is saying "We could save this and flog it in a few years, it will be worth a fortune, I know a guy who has a Panther in his basement, lets try to get a deal off him"
