Hi all, here is one for you, everyone has heard the song ''Jinglebells"" a 1,000 times, and most know every word to the song, so what is the horse's name in that song???? don't look up the lyrics on the internet just see if you can figure it out and give us your answer, I'll reveal the answer if no one can guess it....Sammy

The horse isn't named Bob or Bobtail. The term 'bob tail' refers to the horses shortened tail which is often trimmed or arranged short when pulling sleighs etc.

If you listen to the song it says " bells on bob's tail ring" which in the south during the christmas season years ago, people would tie bells on the horses tail when they would go in the horse pulled sleighs, so bells on BOB'S tail ring....it's gotta be Bob, ......Sammy

No, the bells are attached to the bobtail and when the tail moves, the bells ring; it's not "Bob's" tail there Sammy, the line is "Bells on Bobtail ring" .........................

Speaking of Christmas songs. Has anyone realized the filthy lyrics to Brenda Lees "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree"
Since this is a family board I won,t repeat them, but it,s relative to having some xxxxx pie.
Just wondwer if anyone else has caught this?
Gary

I have been proven wrong, my mistake, did sound like it was saying Bob though...Sammy

My daughter said the horses name is jingle horse??? She is 7 years old, not sure if shes right or not? I have no clue.

Sammy, did you go to University of Florida...Gator education.....sorry, couldn't resist, I figure I would get you before Capitolron! :):)

OK, I had to cheat, but I still haven't found the horse's name yet.

I did find three additional verses, that I had never heard before, so I know the name of the singer's date, and what actually happens to him as he's gliding along to fast in the sleigh.

But no horse's name yet.

I won't post it, anyway, if I do find it, since I've peeked.

The horse's name is not mentioned in the lyrics. Sammy thought his name was Bob but as mentioned by myself and others the bob tail part of the song refers to the horses shortened tail.

Ah, thanks, Oz! It's been so long since the original post, that I forgot that it was Sammy himself asking the horse's name.

Well, nothing lost, I've learned more trivia, that's always a plus.

And besides, anyone who knows "Camptown Races" (or is a Foghorn Leghorn fan) would know about bobbed tails, too. "Bet my money on a bob-tailed nag, somebody bet on the bay".
