I started collecting K&C when I turned 7 years old, death was in May 2000. It took me a while to really get right into it but the first range that really grabbed me was King and County's Arnhem '44 range. I remember seeing my how favourite film 'A Bridge Too Far' when I was about 9 or 10 on the TV during the day (so all bloodshed was removed) and I never realised it at the time but that film stuck with me and drove me towards Andy's K&C Arnhem '44 Range.

Sadly, I got into this range a little late and it was a retired and discontinued range by the time I began to really collect and was never able to add one of these sets to my collection until almost exactly 5 years later. I was Google searching these sets and I came across what appeared o be an online for sale advertisement of AN01 - Battle For the Bridge and AN08 - Mortar Team. Funnily enough; the advertisement was posted on this forum by a member. I then spent some time reading through the forum (to me this was the early form of social media which was referred to as a chat room. Internet safety was a huge thing in the news back then and I ran downstairs to explain what I had found to my mum (she and my gran really supported my toy soldier hobby) and asked of I could join the 'Treefrog Toy Soldier Forum'.

She came upstairs to the computer and had a look through the forum. She said I could join but to be careful and not message anyone directly without her permission. I mentioned the Arnhem set snd she knew I had always wanted to find one of these sets. She said she would buy one for my upcoming birthday and I was overjoyed. Little did I know that she then spoke to my Gran (a huge supoorter of anything I took an interest in) and arranged with the seller to buy both sets.

This was my first step onto Arnhem '44. Over the next 12 years I was lucky enough to pick up AN014 - Lt Col John Frost and AN011 Standing Firing Tommy Gunner from Alexdakar (former Treefrog Member).

AN013 - Street Fighting, AN015 - Bren Gun Carrier, AN016 - Daimler Armoured Car and Crew, AN014 - Horrocks with Map, AN012 - The Defenders from our late friend John Gamble.

AN08 - The Gunners, AN02 - Fighting Withdrawal and q wooden jeep set which was a mix of AN06 - The Recce Jeep and AN07 - from King & Country UK.

AN03 - Walking Wounded (Minus Geman figure😔) AN09 - Supplies, AN010 - Attack Jeep, AN05 - Captured, and then the latest last year from ebay: AN016E - Daimler Armoured Car with Driver - I never thought I'd ever see this set.

Then a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to find a fellow.collector who was selling their collection and I managed to Get AN06 - Recce Jeep and AN07 - Ambulance Jeep.

The Recce Jeep was a set which had always alluded me until now. It should be here this week and I cannot wait!

Thank you Treefrog Treasures and Andy at King & Country for beginning and ending my Arnhem '44 journey.

Wow that’s a hard fought battle to secure Arnhem 44 Scott. I thought I did it tough rounding up pieces, but nothing like your epic feat. Certainly makes that series all the more cherished by you I am sure. Brilliant. Robin.

Hey Scott, you must have a decent sized collection after 22 years, you have been collecting K & C a long time, longer than most forum members, including myself. I started collecting 1/32 Forces of Valour armoured vehicles (mostly German) in 2003/2004, I liked their models but was never impressed with the figures which is why I started collecting King & Country. I initially joined Treefrog in 2005, but lost the password for my initial forum name, I can't remember what it was, I think it was something like Tinsoldier or something similar. Anyway I started using the OzDigger name in January 2006 because 'Digger' was already taken being the forum name for an American member who dug graves for a living {eek3} Subsequently Shannon said I couldn't have Two forum names, I guess my old name was deleted.

I actually sold about 40% of it to fund the purchase of a house mate but made about £10K which was good.

most of the fun is all in the chase anyhow scott. i still have some holy grails left but i did pick up my major KC HOLY GRAIL was the winter tiger with the light blue hue to it. I found it this year at the west coaster for $125 a great
deal too. I never thought I would own that set. The rest of my grails have to do with Trophy figures.

Hello Scott,

I'm glad to hear of your success with the Arnhem 44 line. Although I am far from the most active member, I can still recall when you joined the forum as it was shortly after myself, but particularly because of your enthusiasm for the hobby at the time. I was in the early stages of university back then, and since have seen my collecting ebb and flow depending where life was taking me at that moment. I too have acquired a house over the years, but more importantly a room dedicated to my interests, which has allowed me to get back into the hobby as of late.

Best,
Cody

Hey Scott,
