What a lovely day to be in London! I took myself on a walking tour that covered some ground, but saw VERY good stuff.

The highlights:

Changing of the Horse Guards - I found this interesting. When I first walked in, I walked by a couple of the dosmounted guards at attention - almost like statues. Later, in the middle of the changing ceremony, I noticed a couple of the mounted guards whispering out of the corners of heir mouths and chuckling about things. I expected them to be at the same rigid attention...but what do I know

Worship at Westminster Abby - The preacher of the forum can't go to London on a Sunday and not make it here. I'm not a normally high church guy but found it quite inspiring. When my church in Eyota builds our first building next summer I have some plans in mind :D

The Tower of London - I spent a LOT of time here and was very impressed. I knew of it as a place to hold prisoners, but I had no idea of how much history is there. Very glad I went...and the Beefeater giving the tour was a riot!

Add to that all the random bits I saw as I walked from my hotel near Russel Square to all these places and you have quite a lovely day.

But before I just had to stop for one more meal of Chicken Madras before I was done with it all. MMMMmmmmmmm.

Have fun. Lots to see. Try to get out into the country for a bit. Lovely country England

Sounds like you had an enjoyable day, Pete.
Just take it easy on your community when filling them in to your Westminster Abby ideas :D

Rob, while at the Tower of London I met a lovely lady who was being held there in 'protective custody' because of some 'drunken bloke named Rob.' Not sure what that was all about, but she seemed a very nice person to me!

I'm off to the airport and some good cold weather (I hear we got 9 inches of snow whilst I was away, about time!).

It was great to meet so many of you! I had a good chance to sit down with Pandagen1, Eazy, and Wraith after the show (many thanks for the pint). Hats off to the Nevilles for all the work they do on this show (and for their hospitality to a wayward Yank).

This was my first time in the UK and I definitely look forward to coming back.

Was very nice to meet you at last Pete and hope you and Shannon can come back again soon, maybe next time I could take you round Churchill's Cabinet War rooms,

Best wishes
