I must say, your play mat is an excellent idea, and I love what you do with it.
In your Revolutionary War display, you have a sidehall colonial house. I live in a 170 year old center hall colonial that started out looking very similar to your model (just flip the door and the window). It was originally a farmhouse owned by a farmer named Charles Smith, and was later purchased by William Cullen Bryant as the guest house for Cedermere, his Roslyn Harbor estate. He converted it to a victorian style house, building an extension at the rear of the structure, adding a wrap around front porch, dormering the attic and converting it into servant's quarters, and adding victorian style woodwork around the roofline. It was fun to get a feel for how my home must have looked when it was first built.
