A farewell to the Zulu series (3 Viewers)

Just awesome Robin, One Series where bulk figures make all the difference. I was talking to a lady on Saturday night who has a very large Zulu collection. Strange to hear that but what she described and she didn't know how many figures she had, it sounded like a couple of hundred on each side. I asked her why she liked the series so much, she said when she was a girl she saw the film Zulu and the warriors frightened her and had left a lasting impression on her. She has a collection of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana. Might try and get in touch with her and get some pictures. She is not on the forum. Regards Greg.

I assume the Lady in question was Carol, visited her a few years ago and took some pics of her dio………………...

Great dioramas on display along with the memorabilia.
Love the backdrop painting really does the trick of putting the focus on the figures whilst giving you an impression of the landscape.

Steve

Thankyou Wayne for showing those photos. Carol has a magnificent collection and very well displayed. She told me she built that cabinet herself. Regards Greg.

A lot effort has gone into these layouts and would have taken considerable time to collect. Have a feeling it would have been a labor of love, especially given the significance of the authentic items shown with the miniatures. Pleasing also to see the actual layouts have been fairly well nailed. Appreciate there is someone else in Australia who has travelled my path. Thanks for the photos. Robin.

Hi,
What good photos. So well done.
It makes me want to get my figures down from the loft and set things up again.
I've attached some of my old photos. (Hopefully it has worked)
It would be nice if other people posted some Zulu photos as well.
I can never get tired of looking at this range. I think maybe it's just the colour red and remembering the two films.

Here are some of my Zulu campaign pics.....As with many, they are in storage these days...{sm2} My interest migrated to Sudan and the Northwestern Frontier as well as WW1..But they still are fun..need to remember that the Zulu War was one of the start ups in collecting along with ACW! They are not all Britains...but still Zulu War.....
Cheers

My little Zulu War collection was completed years ago. But I still love it and enjoy it every day!

Never mind , it’s nice to see so many of the Zulu war figures I did for Britain’s represented in such collections....makes me feel proud at least !

I have been doing a bit of work on my Rorke's Drift diorama lately. I still want to get some figures to fill it out a little more. Fortunately my dealer has a good supply of figures left. When I have done that I will do a small diorama on Isandlwana to go on the shelf above. That will be my Britains Zulu Wars display in the one cabinet. Sapper.

Yes Greg, you have nailed it, everything looks correct. A really nice tribute to this battle. Look forward to seeing Isandlwana in the future. Robin.

I've really enjoyed this thread. Thanks to Robin and everyone who contributed to it.^&cool
