Ayup!

Here are a few of my own little dioramas, none of these are as good as what I've seen on here though, you guys know how to do it, and do it good!

Cheers,
Owen

Hi Owen, you underestimate your talents to a large degree. These small dio's are every bit as good or better than what I seen. I love the hedge work, is that bramble or what? I see you use the 1 1/2" foam, as your ground base. I enjoyed the pics, hope to see more your quite talented. Mike.

I used Lichen for it. I pick and dye my own as the stuff for Model Railways costs a bomb! As long as you can get your hands on a large amount of Glycerine, then you can make tons of it!

Owen, these are really good. You obviously are talented and i look forward to seeing more of your work.

Rob

Thanks!

Here are a few more pictures of my old Model Railway Layout. I guess you could call it a working layout in many ways!

HI Owen, how do you process the lichen etc you gather, and where does the glycerine fit in.

Owen,

I really like your dios, especially the Bocage set up. I can't wait to see the Luftwaffe set up.

Nice stuff Owen, welcome. Thanks for posting. Are you really Steve Coogan?

BTW, I forgot to mention one of my on-going projects. I've been working on a large 1/72 scale diorama over the last few months, I think I started it back around September time of last year. It is meant to be loosely based on the film Saving Private Ryan at 'Dog Green Sector' or Omaha Beach on D-Day. I scratchbuild the large bunker using plasticard and polyfilla. At the moment, I'm still working on the American D-Day Rangers (I'm using the pegasus hobbies set). Due to space issues, I had to scratchbuild some LCVP's using plasticard.

Here are some WIP shots that are actually very old! I've done lots since these were done!:

Owen, Love SPR beachhead and bunker system dio. Thank you for all the advice about the deer moss. I couldn't remember the other word. Like I said, you are a true talent. I might have to try that scale someday. It looks like you could set up huge dioramas. Nice paint jobs also, I'm going blind painting 54mm scale. I can only imagine how hard it must be painting those little guys. Hobby On, Mike.

Owen,

That D-Day diorama is absolutely fantastic! I have rarely seen its like. You are as good at dioramas as I've seen. Really outstanding! Top notch in conception and execution. I am impressed. Now I can't wait to see your Luftwaffe airfield diorama.

Hi Owen, thanks for the moss info as I do put some on my shelves for added interest. Your D-Day dio is great, I especially like the way you've done the camo netting.

splendid work Owen, really great! Warrior ! Check this out!

Why thanks y'all! It isn't even finished yet!

I've already posted this pic, these are the ICM 1/48 Luftwaffe Ground Personnel and Pilot. For a fiver, they are quite pricey, but I really really liked them. Proper good kit and they are in a much nicer scale that doesn't cause excessive squinting!

ICM%20Lufwaffe%20Figures.JPG

I also made the Tamiya 1/48 Citroen 11CV Staff Car for the Dio:
fianl11cvoi9.jpg

The base is quite basic, just a grassy square with a corner of concrete. I need to find some 1/48 scale clutter though, somewhere (any ideas?)

Thanks!

Nice Job Owen,

Very nice in deed, it looks like very natural terrain. It's not easy to achieve that is especially the rolling hills for most of us.

Great job again and welcome to the Forum.

Search "Bandai" on Ebay under Models, Military and you will find they do things like trees, boxes, bicycles, road signs, pill boxes, lookout towers, etc. all in 1:48 scale. I used to build Bandai models and make dioramas when I was a kid, and just bought about 20 of the models and accessories for the future when I have kids old enough to build models with.
