A Knight approaches his stead - an SE5A at rest. (1 Viewer)

Nice use of Alan Seeger. Nice to see he is not forgotten.

I like this indeed, you are becoming a Great War.... can't think of a word but you are becoming one.....:)
Wayne.

Very nice, Jack. Who makes that beautiful SE-5? It is a great looking model, very well finished. -- Al

Nice pics, Jack. I've been purchasing the ground-crewmen, two or three at a time, as I can afford them. Can't really explain why, but I really prefer the RFC figures to those of the Germans.

I agree about the RFC figures - I prefer them but I cannot offer a logical reason. The next two aircraft will be a Pfalz and a Gotha, so I may change my mind once that airfield scene is set up.

It is a Wingnuts kit. It is one of their early ones and apparently not their best work (they set a pretty high standard), but still pretty special. The Gotha is out of its box and Jack snr. will commence his work soon!

Early kit maybe, but beautiful. I'll bet the Gotha is going to be a lot of fun and a tough challenge. It's got a LOT of struts.:wink2:^&cool Can't wait to see the finished result.:smile2: -- Al

Thanks - it is a great poem. I am a Wilfred Owen/Siegfreid Sassoon fan but stumbled across this some years ago. He loses nothing in comparison.

As I was replying my Head of Construction rang and indicated that he might build the Wingnuts Bristol at the same time as the Gotha! The Bristol belonged to Keith Park and apparently is a really lovely looking model. The Gotha has two sets of wheels - one fully inflated and the other sitting lower in case you build it with the bombs. How is that for detail?

I see everybody been bedazzled by the plane and did not notice the fuel truck.

So here goes .............nice fuel truck !

Jack,
Any info on pilot of the SE5 ?
