it makes one think of the Germans who are trying to establish a semblance of a new front by clinging to a faint shelter after being undermined from the main front line in the last months of the war in Poland and eastern Prussia.

Absolutely Robin, it's quite a versatile backdrop by JG Miniatures. Even used it a couple of times for Vietnam settings.
