…. did anyone purchase one of the K&C WWII Japanese Zeros ….. and break it {eek3}; drop it {sm2} or have it suffer cat damage:redface2:? Maybe an angry wife .

Well, if any of those tragedies did occur to the following (JN001 / JN009 / JN014 / JN016 / JN042 / JN046) I would be interested in buying it/ them.

I am re-creating (to some degree) the marvelous WWII Japanese landing field diorama that Andy had in his Chicago show room 2 years ago
I do have several (9) of the K&C Zeros, but can not find the courage (or stupidity) to break one.

I thought I might as well give it a try!

I'll take a ride to Waldoboro, smash your planes with a hammer and you'll be in business; if you don't have the courage to do it, I'll be glad to step in, just let me know......………….I'll really do a number on the one you bought from The Hobby Bunker at the Chicago show three years ago; would be my pleasure as a matter of fact...………………:wink2:

Wow, George, that is the mark of a true friend, .... BUT .... I'm not sure your heart is in the right place. :rolleyes2:

Larry,

I have one of those 21st century zeros hanging from my rafters in my big garage. If its going to be damaged I think you could buy one pretty cheap on ebay and at 1/32 I don't think it would be that far off in scale that it would be noticeable if it was a wreck anyway. Not sure if this would work but it was a thought.

I ran outside to the 2nd garage and it's way smaller than what I thought. I would have grabbed it and set it next to a K&C plane but I would have had to move 3 cars in 20 degree weather. Sorry but George can smash your planes first.:D

Yes it is and sure it is...……...remember it's the thought that counts...………...always looking out for you, my trusted sidekick/road warrior buddy/the second half of the George and Larry roadshow.

People can claim what they want, but I'd challenge anyone who claims they have a better time on the road back and forth and at the toy soldier shows than we do...…well maybe those attendees at those indoor flea markets in Korea……….so we've got that going for us, which is nice...………………

Let me know on the smashing, I'll stop at the roundabout diner on the way home too...…………..

Larry, as everyone bellow suggested I do think using a 21st century zero will work well for the purposes you have in mind

Well .... thanks for the effort. I had pondered the exact same thing, so thank you for helping me not to waste time.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in here.
I checked out eBay and (generally) they run in the $50-$60 range for the one(s) I am interested in.

Although I will not "smash" it up, I do intend to damage it a bit with .... bullet holes; broken landing gear; cracked canopy; maybe a damaged tail, but ….it will still (hurt) just not as much as a K&C, T. Gunn or JJD plane. It will be off to the side and (maybe) covered by a bit of brush and other debris so the scale difference will not be as noticeable … I hope.
Guess we will see!

Merry Christmas gents,

Larry before you pay 50 to 60 bucks do you want me to send a picture of the one hanging in my garage ? I don't know that I really need it, Its in the rafters for god sake.
And you can have it cheaper than that. No box but I think it's in good shape.

Well ...yes, if you can bare to part with your treasure of yesteryear. I am going to weather and bash it about a bit so that might be perfect.
PM me with the photo, or post here and PM me with the details, shipping, ect.

Merry Christmas
Larry

I used a Corgi 1/32 Hurricane (in the background) with my Battle of Britain dio and thought it worked well. Sorry the pic is not very good for size comparison. Chris

Larry,

The sliding canopy part seems to have fell off, but the rest is in good shape. If it will work let me know.
I would be fine with 25.00 if that helps.

Hey Chuck,
Works for me. The canopy was going to suffer some "damage" anyway so .... !
I PM'ed you the shipping and payment details. Ship the plane when it is convenient as Christmas is a busy time.

Please let me know when it was shipped as rutral Maine postal systems can be a bit haphazard.

Many thanks and have a great Christmas.

There you go Larry, all's well that ends well...…….now go put your "Men from Maine" winter get up on; you know, the one that takes you four hours to get into, complete with long johns, snowmobile suit, hip waders, one of those stylish red and black checkered jackets with the fur collar, mittens, scarf and one of those classic Elmer Fudd hats, then set up a lawnchair down by your mailbox at the end of the driveway and patiently wait for Agnes/Mildred/Gravel Girdy or whatever the name of your 110 year old letter carrier is as she trudges around scenic Waldoboro dropping off packages to all the wrong houses...………...keep us posted on your adventures, it will help us all get through a long, cold winter, except for those fellas from Florida and Texas, it may be winter, but it's still ball soup weather for them and that's the way they like it, if the temperatures plummet below 70, they go into a full blown panic...………………

And on that note, Miss Tiffany and I are out of here for a few days, off to Mama Bears tomorrow for a nice late lunch, then we open our presents, then off to my sisters house for a huge gathering, over 60 people show up and she puts out the classic Christmas Eve Italian spread, then we go back to Mama Bears house to crash, then up early on Christmas morning to prep for Christmas dinner, about 20 family members come over for that one, then off to Miss Tiffany's friends house for a Christmas night get together...……………………………...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!!……………...
