A Long way to come to kill each other (1 Viewer)

Well .... either THEM or US .... and it is far better that it is THEM!!!

I like the shot from the back. It makes you wonder what is going thru the mind of the Brit.
I believe that there was a <sort-of> respect between the Afrika Korps and the British 8th. However, I would question if he was thinking "Poor Chaps."

Maybe he is pondering, --> "Jolly Good, one more down. A few more and I get to go home to Guildford and my lady!"

Battle of the armored cars

Yep, thought I'd better pick one of these Humber Armoured cars up as they're discontinued now before they sell out and become difficult to find :wink2:

Of course Larry, but the smell of cooking human flesh might make someone have a bit of sympathy even after having killed them, there for the grace of God go I kind of thing. But at the end of the day I'm sure he was glad to have been the one to have survived

Hi Brendan

3D effect is a few bits of Synthetic cushion stuffing from Poundland dyed with cheap kids paint in Red, Orange for fire effect and Black for the Grey smoke, left to dry then teased out / fluffed up to form the fire and smoke column and a string of mini lights from Poundland to illuminate it from within. I'm sure you'll find same stuff in a Dollar type store.

PS. make that diluted paint.

Steve

Yes I think you mastered the smoke/flame aspect Steve, quite realistic. Robin.

I really like this scene, Steve. Always appreciate when two opposing forces are shown on camera. This Humber MK II is one of only a few newer desert vehicles I never purchased; in fact I don't recall seeing it pictured before. Cool imagery in the sand.

I had heard this; in fact recall reading that the desert campaign was one of the last Gentleman's Wars between opponents. Do not know how true it was but I can understand when two armies not only battle one another, but also the forces of nature in an never ending arid desert.

Rat Patrol on! :salute::

Great set up and love that smoke effect-nicely done !

Cheers! Thanks for the tips.

The smoke plume certainly adds a bit more realism and helps bring the display to life. Really enjoying all the fun you're sharing in the sand pit mate, well done!
