A new home for my winter Germans (1 Viewer)

Tuesdays update, i managed to get timber frame for the window on the tower sorted & fitted.

I also started the gate for the stone wall, i will detail it and the cobble stones tomorrow night & hopefully pick up the
0.9 mm balsa wood for the shingles for the tower roof.

Wednesday & Thursdays update,

Two days of nothing working the way it should, three try's at getting the roof on the tower sorted but to no avail.:mad:

Dismantled a old dio for the barn and decided I should have just built a new one oh well, live and learn I guess.

On the up side I asked the guy's at work to keep some foam for me and the last picture shows what they kept for me.{sm4}

Friday nights progress,

I got the roof sorted:smile2:, i was speaking to one of the guy's at work and he suggested making the shingles longer, it worked.

Made a few more trees to fill out the left hand side, just trying to think of something to fill part of the left hand foreground?

That's the way Matt, learn from your mistakes not that they are a biggy anyway as the dio is coming along nicely and the tower and trees look great!

Tom

It is coming out very well indeed...and the strategic placement of the moss on the roof top was a great touch {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}
Looking forward to seeing the battles that will range between the enemy in the forest and the machinegun nest in the tower.....
Cheers
Luiz

Matt,
The style of the turret suggests an old castle perhaps some castle ruins? can help you with plenty of ruins castings if needed.
Wayne.

Mondays update,

Started last night on a ruined building and it's starting to take shape quite nicely.{sm4}

Many thanks to Wayne for supplying the castings for the building.:salute::

Looks like your a "bricky" from way back Matt! The ruined building looks great mate and it will add a nice touch to the overall project.

Tom

Tuesdays Progress,

I got side tracked and reworked the top right hand side, i had some stone work left over so i raised the corner section & added some stairs.
A quick change of colour to bring it more inline with the tower and a bit of foliage for colour, i think it looks much nicer.{sm4}

I also started adding shingles to the roof of the ruined building, at least it doesn't have a curved roof.

Matt.

Thursday's progress,

Finished the roof for the ruined building and made a few more trees, my son reckons i am obsessed with making trees.{sm4}

Last night my son decided he would like to make a wall for the diorama, i think turned out alright for his first try.

Hopefully i should be able to get the last few details sorted tomorrow night and then it will be snow time.

Thanks for looking.
Matt

My son suggested I post some photos of the old display that is being replaced.

I made it about 5 or 6 years ago and just thought it was time for a new one.:salute::

Great stuff Matt, I like the MG42 poking through the window in your tower. All the figures and armour spread out on your dio looks great as well.
