Hi Everyone,

Let me first preface this w/ apologizing for a lack of photos. As I stated in another recent Figarti thread, I dropped my camera, this time for the last time. It was a durable Olympus C60 that had performed well and had been repaired once prior, but alas, it is no more. A new camera is on the way, but on to the Priest.....Figarti has hit another one out-of-the-park! This is one smokin' model to say the least! The desert weathering is fantastically applied, and the detail on the gun is magnificient. It appears that many of the small and fragile-looking gun mechanisms are brass, not resin, as indicated by Rick in another thread, so they are actually very sturdy. As we know from the other recent Figarti releases the packaging is much improved, and the set arrived in perfect condition w/ no damages whatsoever. Thanks go out to Matt and the gang at HB for a fine and fast shipment! And again, hats off to Figarti for their new style of packaging, and for taking the time to strategically place foam pads under, around, and over the very complex main gun to keep it stationery in transit. The figures feature Figarti's latest level of advancement, with the improved faces, tones and poses. It appears that the days of awkward, disproportionate limbs are gone, and have been enhanced to reflect reality quite well. I did have a little trouble placing them all in the vehicle; it is a bit crowded w/ the gun and all, but they all fit nicely if you station the soldiers as shown in the official photos. I was able to install the four figs. w/out chipping any of the them or the intertior of the vehicle. So congrats are due again to Rick and Co. for producing a beautiful version of what so many collectors have been asking for. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say "thanks for listening". It's nice to have a hobby where the manufacturers are so in touch. Wonderful work and sorry guys again for the lack of pics. I'm looking forward to hearing what others think about their Priests! The one impression I take away from mine is the paint jobe and amazing degree of fine detail-oriented weathering. I like it perhaps even more than the stunning Firefly. Finally, I must state again, I'm anxious and fearful :p of what is yet to be unvelied in Chicago!!! :D

I saw the priest in person and personally was not overly impressed with it....I thought the weathering was a bit overdone....the figures are excellent.....just my opinion.....I guess i just can appreciate it enough....To those who like it or have been waiting a longtime for this piece enjoy....I like the fire fly much more as the weathering is more subtle......Still a great piece of British desert armour.....

I just got this one, And I can understand. That some people will say that the weathering is a little bit overdone.
BUT, The weathering On this one Is not too far off. similar to the Long Range Desert Group truck that Figarti has. It Shows a Veteran And Grizzled Group. That has seen and Done,What is asked Of them. time after time.
So for this one I like It, Not as much as the Firefly (My favorite). But, I like it so much that The LRDG truck is In my list Now.
And Like the Firefly, The Packaging Is excellent!!. Again, Well done, Rick!!.
Waiting For the next one. And of Course the announcements!:D

I got mine today, and it is right up there with the Cambrai M3 as one of the finest pieces of allied armor I have seen in this hobby.:cool::cool::cool:

Actually a rabbi arrived at mine, it being the eve of the Jewish new year :D

Very nicely made although I still prefer the Grant. However, this is better made. I like the weathering, where as K & C go for the clean look. The only frustrating thing about this tank as Joe noted above are the figure placements. You really can't get them just right.

Received mine yesterday, and the weathering didn't bother me at all. Nice detailed piece, but the fender on mine is out of whack (looked odd from the front and upon inspection is touching the front sprocket). Looks like it was glued in place sloppily and out of alignment compared to the other side. That and the large number 12 decal on my Firefly being at a noticeable downward angle make me question the quality control. Nice detailed models, good paint and improved figures, but of the handful of models I've seen they all have had some detail that could have been easily addressed with a little quality control at the assembly stage. Maybe that comes with having more detail?

The only problem that Figarti has not yet overcome in their meteoric rise through the ranks of the companies producing toys soldiers is this nagging inconsistency in quality. Thankfully, my Priest had no quality control issues, so I lucked out, but I had issues with the decals on my Firefly.

Mine should be here before chicago. I hope it comes with no issues.

I'd love to see some of our members take some pictures of this little jewel. Its always nice to see TREEFROGGER photos instead of just the marketing shots from manufacturers.

The product has improved considerably from some of the early releases, so I think if they nail down quality control everything would fall in line. The packaging/breakage issue seems to have gone away with the new inserts, as well as using brass instead of resin for some of the fragile detail, but something small like putting decals on crooked or glueing bogies on sloppily can really kill the overall appearance (try to convince myself it is battle damage, or drunk application of the numbering :), but in the end it just looks like a manufacturer defect). I may give Figarti another shot down the road, but likely only if I can see the model in person before purchasing it. Unfortunately I'm not close to any retailers. :(

For you folks that have received your Priest how do you think these sets will fit with the Figarti piece? I'm speaking of the paint style and sculpts. Would the Priest look out-of-place?
Thanks.
Donnie

Donnie,

The Priest will but I don't believe the figures will. The style is just too different.

I received the Priest yesterday.
Gun moves left-to-right, of course up and down, interior is stunning down to the floor boards and looks like some oils were used to create the very effective finish.

Awesome what Figarti is doing with their AFV and figures.

Mine has been sitting in customs for a week. They are getting really slow. Won't see it now until I get back from Chicago :(

That's a bummer; let us know what you think once it finally arrives. I think it is a fine model indeed, and now I'm eyeing the TX special too!
