What was particularly interesting for a first timer like me was the detail that accompanied Andy's responses. One of the questions that elicited a very interesting response was whether K&C would do a Kokoda range. It also highlighted the danger of summarising an answer from Andy in a few words and then taking it as a statement of intent. Although his answer was no, he showed a knowledge of the campaign and its importance to Australians, explained the reasons behind the decision to go with the ALH and the NA Campaign rather than Gallipoli and Kokoda, drew parallels with the Brits in Burma and observed that the ETO had proven more successful in the past, and even added an observation about the lack of aesthetic appeal of Japanese uniforms. It was a far reaching, intelligent and fascinating insight into the hobby and the business, even though the answer was not what we were after. What was even more impressive was that had you not known better, you might have thought it was his very first TS gathering. I wish I was as enthusiastic taking about how I make my living.
