A Quick Fifteen Minutes with Andy--- Yoiur Questions Answered (2 Viewers)

Mate, you know one thing Andy does is listen, drop him a line. That is a great idea for a figure I would want one and he is so well know that the chances are high for him to appear one day.
Wayne.

I'm hoping to see him tomorrow in Sydney at Peter Nathan's during the day so I shall mention it. :)

Noooooooooooooooo. AAaaaaaaaaaaaargh. {eek3} I want my Air Vice Marshall Keith Park.

Geoff,
Andy will be in Peter Nathan's shop Thursday, Friday and Saturday so you will have a chance to ask him.
Unfortunately Waynepoo is right, I dont recall any questions about RAF during the main Q&A and even during the many conversations I heard. I would not put this down to lack of interest but that people were asking about other series or ideas.
Brett

There are some very, very nice proto types which will excite some of you (Robin). Howard took some pictures which I hope he will post soon, I will not steal his thunder but all those that like horses and camels will be happy. And I would add that Andy went out of his way to ask what we had in mind and answered all our questions. Now that I have meet him don't believe all the rubbish that some have said about him, as we say here, he is a top bloke.
Wayne.

See now I cannot go to bed Wayne, I should have bit the bullet and made the trip and nicked a couple of LH when Andy was distracted by Brett & Howard. Now I just have to wait and see if these mythical horses & camels exist with everyone else. Give it up guys, stop holding out or I will.......cheers, Robin.

As Terri Hatcher said in another context on an episode of Seinfeld - They're real and they're magnificent!

In all seriousness, they are magnificent. I have never seen prototypes so I have nothing to compare them with, but it was an impressive sight. The camels, in particular, were mighty impressive!

Yes - everyone at our table was very impressed with whole evening. It was quite a night!

I think the RAF have had there fair share this year.

I had a feeling on the answer on the French-Indian War.Nobody seem to want to touch it because of Jenkins but it seems that other ranges exist that are done by Jenkins,7YW,Sudan,WWI.Oh well that's money saved.

Rob, there were if I recall six or seven LH and some other what Andy called Middle east figures , I can't remember again six or seven of them as well. As to when they will be released I don't know
and that doesn't mean that there were any secert handshakes or such he just didn't say. Forgive me but I don't really want to steal Howard thunder and they will speak for themselves when you seen them. He should have had a nap by now...:wink2:

What was particularly interesting for a first timer like me was the detail that accompanied Andy's responses. One of the questions that elicited a very interesting response was whether K&C would do a Kokoda range. It also highlighted the danger of summarising an answer from Andy in a few words and then taking it as a statement of intent. Although his answer was no, he showed a knowledge of the campaign and its importance to Australians, explained the reasons behind the decision to go with the ALH and the NA Campaign rather than Gallipoli and Kokoda, drew parallels with the Brits in Burma and observed that the ETO had proven more successful in the past, and even added an observation about the lack of aesthetic appeal of Japanese uniforms. It was a far reaching, intelligent and fascinating insight into the hobby and the business, even though the answer was not what we were after. What was even more impressive was that had you not known better, you might have thought it was his very first TS gathering. I wish I was as enthusiastic taking about how I make my living.

I agree Jack, Andy has often said that he feels he has the best job in the world and as a result his enthusiasm is obvious to see to anyone talking about the subject. His patience must be also be inexhaustible as he must answer thousands of questions and requests every year. Re the Japanese figures , I could never understand why our American friends didn't lap this range up in bucket loads, I'd have thought the Marines and their foes would be a huge seller over there due to their justifiable pride in the Marines, perhaps the baptism of fire they went through and the horrors of fighting the Japenese was still to raw a subject.

Rob

Shows why I should never open a business. I would have bet the house on the Marine figures being huge sellers. I wonder if the issue is that the Japanese figures do not appeal, so therfore you do not buy their adversaries.
