I haven't posted a Civil War pic in awhile. Experimenting today in getting more depth of field in my photos. I have a Nikon camera that has features on it that I haven't even started to use yet. Today I took some time to learn how to use some of these features, especially using the Aperture setting. This allows more control over the f-stop. This photo was taken at an f-20 with Hi ISO and resulted in a fairly clear photo of most of my 4'x8' battlefield. I am happy with the focused depth I was able to achieve.

Great looking pic, Mike. The figure density is certainly impressive, and the scope of the fighting well conveyed. All in all, quite a showpiece you’ve put together!:salute::

Mike...I always loved these epic scenes...extra primo good my friend!

Thank you Mike. I plan on posting more "epic" scenes as I get better at taking photos with more depth of field. I have so much more to learn what my camera is capable of beyond just using it in the AUTO setting.

Nice one Mike. Chris

Thanks Chris.

Why thank you Moe . . . . Turned my attention to the Civil War while awaiting the arrival of more deck crew figures for the SARA and the Bunker Hill. I expect delivery any day now . . . .

Mike, you've gotten wonderful use out of this ACW dio board. And this is another great one. I love battlefields with massive mix of combatants. My favs in this are the Fed Zouaves interspersed with artillery on the top center, and the Rebs attack on the rock protected Feds lower right. Enjoy.

Thank you very much Joe. Since my dio table is in the very center of my display room I always have it "in play". The 114th PA Zouaves are some of my favorites also.

Here's several more that I took this evening. Again, I was using my camera manually in the Aperture mode with an f-stop of 20 and with Hi ISO.

Why thank you Mike. You are way too kind. Glad you like the pics. I've had this camera for a little over a year now and yesterday I decided to learn what other features it had besides just the AUTO mode which is what I have been using almost exclusively until now. I am finding that turning the AUTO mode off and going manually opens up so many more "shooting" options with some very nice results. By the way, all of these pictures were taken without a flash. By controlling the f-stop and using a very high ISO I am finding out that not only is there extended depth of field, but also more natural light.

Enjoyed your dio's....WB is my favorite ACW maker and hopefully they will get back on track. Waiting patiently for the caissons and cavalry.

WB has always been my favorite ACW maker too. Like you, I too am hoping to see limbers and caissons in action. Mounted cavalry is certainly another much ignored branch of service that has been asked for by many of us collectors. All good things come to those that wait patiently . . . . Keep your fingers crossed . . .

Great diorama Mike! I particularly like the photos of the Confederate infantry making their way over the fence. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Brendan . . . glad you enjoyed the photos. I am rather partial to the Rebs going over the fence myself. I think these are some of the best animated ACW sets WB has ever developed . . .
