Its a damp, drizzily morning here in south central Wisconsin so I am enjoying my Saturday morning with my ACW collection. I am waiting on the arrival of WB ACW #17933 "Union Command Set, Irish Brigade, 28th Mass" which should be here today. So I have been "deploying" my forage capped Federal troops as if they were the 4th Irish Regiment (28th Mass) on July 2, 1863 going into the wheat field at Gettysburg. Here's a photo I framed . . . .

The lighting does make a difference...that's a beautiful shot mike...

Thank you Michael. I also used your suggestion from yesterday's telephone chat - I set my camera on a 2 second delay, depressed the shutter and removed my hands from the camera (which was sitting on a table). Total hands free exposure which eliminates any chance of any kind of movement. Thanks so much for the tip.

Museum quality in every way. I fully expect to see your photos on the cover of The Standard!
Looking forward to your forthcoming China pix with your professional photo gear now in place.

Thank you very much Randy. Coming from one of the "masters" of photography on this forum, and whose artistic work I have always admired, I really appreciate that you liked this one. I haven't gotten anything new lately to add to my SOHK/USNavy/USMC collection to take pictures of - I'll have to remedy that ;) . . . .

Following along on this morning's idea and adding to it, here's another photo of the "28th" charging through the Wheatfield towards the South Carolinians of Kershaw's Brigade . . . . .

Nice seeing you at play this AM Mike an wouldn't be surpised as Randy stated seeing a photo of yours on the cover of the Standard along with others within it.
Nice way of finishing off my morning coffee viewing your photos and hopefully your expected figures arrive today for you to play with an share with us.

This is really beautiful, from the perspective of another photography afficionado. You need to hang a few of these on the walls of your toy soldier room!!

Well done Mike!
I am glad to see you are making good use of your new 'The Chosen Ground' diorama base. It seems to be a good size for photographing even mid range setups. This last one is even better than the Confederate artillery set up.
Looks like I will have to drag one out for myself!
Ken
