After what seems like a long dry spell, I received a number of my pre-ordered ACW figures today. Among them were #31062 Union Cavalry Trooper Dismounted Kneeling Loading, and #31064 Union Cavalry Trooper Dismounted Advancing pictured in these photos depicting Buford's Cavalry at Gettysburg . . .

the cavalry is best for me:salute::, it takes more releases in the series ACW
^&grin

Very nice Mike...with your photographic skills, figures and props...you're turning out some great stuff...

The trooper on the far right was "on point" and had his mount shot from under him. The rest of the troop dismounted and advanced as skirmishers to support him. The "horse holders" are just beyond that rise. A mounted trooper awaits orders. NICE!!!

Here is some more horseflesh, and rather than start a new thread for just two images I thought I would share them here.
I just finished 32" X 32" grassy base with three removable trees for a fellow ACW collector and before Ericka packed it up to ship out I snapped a few quick images. Here are a couple of Rebs scouting on an overcast day...

You always provide "eye candy" for everyone to enjoy Ken. These two photos are no exception . . . very nicely done . . .

Ken: Is this a hint that the officer and scout are going to be getting reinforcements in the near future?

Well, actually this is a preview of the officer before I convert him for the Wisconsin Veteran's Museum event auction. He will be offered along with some Confederate Infantry and the Iron Brigade conversions I have been posting images of as a 'work in progress'.
I am looking forward to this event and hope to see some of you there!

All the Best,
Ken

Looking forward to the WVM event also Ken and I can't wait to see the conversions that you are working on for this event. Hopefully I will be fortuneate enough to go home with a few ^&grin

Here are a couple of images of the Confederate officer conversion 'in progress'.

I cut the head off and turned it. When I recontour the neck area, I will also re-sculpt the hair and add facial hair. I removed the arm, reshaped and repositioned it, and added a sword hilt and a stainless steel blade. Notice that I also removed the sword grip from the scabbard under the saddle too.

I will get a picture of it when the epoxy work is finished and before I prime it in the next few days.

When I touch up the paint on these conversions I generally clean up all of the paintwork and add a few additional shadows and high lights.
