Lately, K&C has been coming out with two versions of vehicles (Stug, Panzer IV)... I guess it's economical, only construct one mould for two products.

I wonder why we have not yet an AK Kubelwagen? Would be great if comes with Bubble tires!

There are two already, the Gray Fields of Battle and the Camo Normandy version. That's not to say we won't see a A/Korps version in the near future ;)

John, not sure a schwimmwagen (an amphibious jeep) would be a hot seller in the Afrika corps line, since it's you know, in the desert. ;) But it would be most welcome on the eastern front, painted white. I didn't like New Model Army's attempt at the vehicle - the proportions were off. Forces of Valor makes a nice winter one but it's too small for K&C.

I have seen a few models of Schwimmwagens in Afrika Korps insignia but never any historical proof that they were ever used in North Africa. The vast majority went to the eastern front, but some of the coloration applied does hint incorrectly at A/Korps use.

I have seen at least one picture of a Schwimwaggen captured by the British in Tunisia.

I don't doubt it as two were allocated to the Brandenburgers & six were allocated to the Herman Göring Division, two of them being evaluated for tropical tests. However they would have been rare birds in Africa and were apparently never used by the Afrika Korps, which is basically what I was trying to get thru to johngambale ;)

Its one of those iconic German vehicles that you feel you must have in your collection along with the 88,Tiger,Kubel etc.I'd like to see Andy do a winter or Normandy version of this.

Rob, do you have the tan FOV Schwimmwagen? I have it set up on a dio with the "Italian" StuG.

FOV make terrific vehicles and don't cost much either which is always a bonus. The Schwimm and Stug are their best molds imo, especially in the dark yellow finish, actually it looks more beige on these models but near enough.

I was going to buy an NMA version but with the amount of product K & C have been bringing out I'm confident a K & C Schimm can't be to far off. I understand a new Kettenkrad (maybe FJ version) is on the way and a Schimm would also make a nice addition to their soft skinned range.

I am also really looking forward to the next Kettenrad,i held off getting the winter version in the hope of an AK version. However one for the FJ's would also be cool. Its a shame because an AK Schimm would look great but was not a common beast as you said,i'll settle for an AK Kubel;).

:) All of Andy's Kubelwagen's and Schwimmawagen's, Notice he Only puts 1-Driver NO Passenger's? In my Personal Collection, their is usually 3-Passenger's and 1-Driver; also, Mounted MG 34!

Notice that we've had 5 motorcycle combos which came from the same mould already (2 Fields of battle, 1 AK, 1 Crete FJ, 1 LAH) and only 2 Kuble

We actually got TWO Schimmwagens, one of them with a 'tackle out' figure. There may be hope for an A/Korps style Kettenkrad which would go well with the new FJ figures.

I think they should come out with one. It would be a very interesting piece I have to say. This one it should have like passengers in all seats.

I think they should come out with a Kubelwagen. I know in the early days ( I think it was AK008 was a Kubelwagen)

Actually the set was AK09. There is a picture on my website if you want to see it.
Thanks,
Bill Sager
