Good evening all:

Just a few shots as I have a little fun with my very limited collection of CS Afrikakorps items:

For all you DAK fans out there, I'm contemplating if I should get into King & Country rather than future Collector's Showcase items.
I'm not big on "mixing and matching" unless the pieces go well together and really like some of the K&C items, esp. the British Eighth Army stuff (no such luck in CS). In addition, I'm loving all the buildings and terrain made by K&C. Scale and some quality issues have me a bit concerned with CS (although I do like CS).

Any thoughts from the CS and K&C collectors would be most appreciated.

Great shots, looks like fun. The question you posed might be better if you raised it in the Discussion thread, rather than here. Keep up the great work, Robin.

WO...

Probably as its about CS the right place to ask the question in the discussion part you would end up with other manufacturers comparisons and make it more confusing.

Its all down to what you think and not others about the desire to mix and match. I don't think they do go together myself and have always kept them separate. I have as we have spoken all the early DAK sets from CS and, quite a few K&C and while they have common features to the DAK you would expect aesthetically for me, they are very different.

Now, others will have a different take and not mind these differences we see many people mixing many brands and are happy with it its just not for me. This question arose in terms of the LAH a while back between the two makers and I posted pics of the two makers sets.

At the end of the day, obviously, each manufacturers products work best within their releases but, you do what suits you as its your cash. If it works then go for it if not, then keep them separate.

I made a DAK dio by KC items mixed with Delprado and a company similar to Delprado...
Maybe, as you have started with CS, you d better keep on with it, if you are satisfied of their style

Thanks for the info guys. Appreciate your input. I'm really stuck between both CS & K&C. They both make some really nice stuff. I'm looking at purchasing a few K&C items at the moment but their vehicles carry a nice price tag. I was really wondering how the two brands mix and I think based on what you've shared, they don't exactly blend well (and that's along the line of what I was thinking). Appreciate it.

Just as a thought, if you're not wanting to mix up the CS & K&C figures and vehicles, then maybe try some of the K&C desert village items with you're CS? I'm sure they'll look fine, they're very good buildings and you won't be disappointed.

Yes - I can possibly use for my existing 1/32 scale diorama as well. In fact, I purchased the well as a small start:

I've really been admiring the village pieces/buildings.

Yeah thats a good start mate, it's a great wee purchace and very versatile. The K&C palm trees are also a great addition to any display, although several other companies make excellant palms too......they all add to a little more detail.
Cheers Toddy

That's good to know Toddy. I've been looking at the K&C palms. They look tall.
