As the stalingrad line moves out with infantry , armor does FL have plans to do aircraft. My germans can use a stuka :)

I'm really not an Aircraft collector as I have only one Aircraft in my collection a copy of Mr Urban Ben Drews Aircraft , a P-51 that he had made in Asia its carved out of wood and painted like his P-51 and autographed . He used to do the Military Show circuit some years back , I had some long chats with him (a real nice guy ) and picked up a few Military items from his collection . Well anyway I would be interested in adding to this collection if First Legion were to turn their talents towards building Aircraft . I'm sure it would be well researched and made to perfection ;) I would jump at a copy of Herr Rudels Stuka for sure and a 262 would be nice down the road :D All the best Gebhard

So I would guess $400.00....$450.00?

What do you feel an accurate representation of an Aircraft would be worth to ya ? That is one that does not need to be repainted , parts taken away or added , one that would make even the experts fall silent . Please don't take this for anything other then I'm just curious as to what you would pay for such an Aircraft if it could be done . Gebhard

Gebhard,

It would probably depend on the material. I can't see FL using polystone so I assume it would be some form of resin or wood. If it's wood, 500 is a pretty good price. If resin, considering FL's reputation for quality 500 might be ok.

Gee... Now I don't know? how much more is it worth to get it from the hand of GOD?!?!?!?:D

Well I guess I should have expected this kind of answer , but I had foolishly believed that your post was sincere . I guess its just another attempt by a supporter of another Brand having at a First Legion thread , oh maybe its just another joke  . Everyone is free to post anywhere they like but it would be nice if your ventures over this side were to make a substantial contribution whether positive or negative and not to take snipes or for trolling purposes . Thanks to Mr Brad for your serious answer . All the best Gebhard

Gebhard,

Just as a point of comparison in the resin area, which is what I think the Figarti planes are made of, the B 17 was around $800 to $1,000. I don't know if it is available anymore (didn't see it on the Treefrog or Hobby Bunker sites). By comparison, a wooden one, based on the K & C price for a Lancaster, is over $2,000.

Figarti's Storch is around $300 whereas as the K & C wooden equivalent is $850.

These are probably rough price points of what a plane might cost.

Gebhard,
really, take it easy, I posted a legitimate question to begin with refering to the price. Your response sounded like it came more from a worshiper than a collector of toy soldiers. I think FL makes really beautiful stuff, no doubt but at a price and completely in its own style as it should be. I'm not above a little poke;) but really I ment no offense.
Ray

Well gee Ray ,
I guess you meant to say in answer to my legitimate question above between $400.00 and $450.00 that would be a fair price . I have know idea where your "hand of GOD" reference or your "poke" at me being some kind of worshiper came from  I just asked you how much the perfect Aircraft would be worth to ya " if it could be done " . Never said First legion would make it , and IMO I don't think any manufacture could make something that could make the experts fall silent . There will always be someone who will find a fault somewhere .
I can assure you my GOD is not setting in China drinking Sake , Although I must admit my experience with First Legions Napoleonic line has been a bit of an awakening :) All the best Gebhard

And all the best to you Gebhard, have fun

I started with aircraft, not surprising given my background but given what I think they would need to cost, I doubt I would take the plunge again. A lot would depend on the medium and how many features it had. Personally I find this Hobby Master 1/32 Diecast the current state of the art

It is an incredible bargin at $169 and if they ever did a Spitfire like that I would "need" it I expect. So to spend $500 or so for a polystone aircraft with no moving parts would just not do it for me. After all, that would buy 10 foot or 3 mounted Napoleonics.;):D
