Looks like you’re off to a good start! I’ve done a few airfield dioramas, but mostly on the smaller vignette size to keep the focus on the aircraft model and figures. Here’s a couple of my examples, which you could hopefully use as a reference...

These are great vignettes , my diorama will be a bit bigger ( lots of items and detail still missing !!!)
guy:)

A good example of a question that I asked you recently about (hiding/covering/removing) the figure bases.

Interesting to see the pre-placement of the figure, then sink the figure base into the diorama foam. :wink2:

Some progress made .
Added the ground cover made of Pollyfilla.
Painted with oils (deluted Van Dyck brown as a base , when dry, dry brushed with Revell Matt 65 green, when dry dry brushed again with Yellow ochre oil paint) .
The tooth picks indicate where more items will be put later .
Now the base is ready to add the grass, but first I will build and add the facade of a wooden hangar in the background

I really like the outcome, Guy. Very nice indeed.
Interesting to see the initial concept > to building > finished product.

Also a great example of one technique to hiding bases.
This will work on permanent display but not so much on temporary ones, which is what I do mostly.

Is this for you or a customer?

Hi Larry
Thanks for your comments
this diorama is for a customer collector. It will soon be on its way to the UK
