AK Panzer IV (1 Viewer)

I just got the AK Panzer IV from the local shop in HK...

Placing it side by side to the retired Panzer III, seems like it is a little taller and longer, and the turret is much larger...

Is this the case in real life scale? Or is it because Andy has upgraded the scale of his tanks (as for the Tunisia Tiger tank)?

The tracks look really good c.f. the old tanks.

Disappointed that the two side figures stick their heads out from the turret cannot be removed.

Comparing to the Tunisia Tiger, the Panzer IV's weathering is much heavier and it's sand color is a bit on the brighter side than the Tiger... I think the Tiger wins in it's painting scheme.

BTW, the tank riders are excellent!!! I acutally love these figures without the bases!

Also, those Opel Blitz truck sitters are sitting too close together... as if they want to sit on each other's lap!

What do you think of the greenish color of the Afrika Korps tunic? Do they look too green and haven't been sun-washed? Did anyone try to weather their tunic? If so photos please!

On reflection, I think you're right. That guy in the middle of the 3-man sitting group does look like a bit of a shirt-lifter...!!!

Yes I was thing about the NEW Opel Blitz Truck Rider's possible AC/DC? Also, I rather have 2-Seated Rider's, vs 3-Man Rider's, that could fit into my Personal Kubelwagen's/Schwimmawagen's!

Maybe this has been discussed previously, but I am really bothered by the fact that figures cannot be removed. I love the old vehicle sets with the removable figures because you can place them in different contexts. You can create combat scenes, convoy scenes, stills, etc. Removing figures allows me to change my dioramas around. Glueing figures permanently takes away the versatility of the set which used to be one of the attractions of K&C. And why glue some figures and not others? I do not understand the lack of consistency.

I haven't seen the AK P4 up close yet - its probally a due to the response from the P3 guy falling out ? - not sure?

DAK green was quite varied depending on factory, dye lot and fading and weathering. I do think, however, that K&C's green is too bright and new looking. It should be more olive as seen in these examples: (That said I still think these new marching figures and tank riders are nice additions. I would have liked to have seen a mess group or tank maintenance unit as Honour Bound as done for their armor)

The Mark III had six road wheels either side whereas the Mark IV had eight suggesting the later tank is larger. However they were very similar in dimensions and weight therefore any significant differences in the model sizes would be a result of K & C producing recent tank models closer to 1/30 scale making them larger than many earlier examples.

I think the truck sitters are molded together making them closer than desired and it would be better if they were separate figures imo.

The olive green color is close enough and in fact the German uniforms varied so much in color and pattern in the Med theatre that it's difficult to discern what is right or wrong.
