AK46 SL Rommel's Horch (1 Viewer)

No, that's not true, unless the Collector's Club is doing really good :)

Dear Brad,

My understanding is that AK46(SL) was on sale this weekend at K&C HK store, that is now availaible for Online Collectors Club members (I received the same notice) and that it will be available from dealers later this month.

IMO, there is no need to make a story with that unless it has to do with a particular member (in this case, Oberstokar and we all know why... http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7309)

Plus ça change, plus c'est pareil

Pierre.

Wow, I didn't keep up with the forum so often to find out that the Russian Guards Plumes discussion stirred up such a crowd! I am so glad I get to be one of the first batch to enjoy 'playing' with my Horch!

Rommel arrived today and allowed a few photos!

It's one of K & C's better wheeled vehicles imo.

But I'm not sure if Rommel really went in for black lip gloss, was it an early Goth-Nazi style ;)

Got mine yesterday. Really really pleased with it. It's gone straight in as one of my favorite AK pieces. Highly recommend this one.

The BEST thing about the AK46 is that now I don't have to get Rommel's 'Greif' Halftrack which is (so far) selling for way to much imo. Personally I think the Panzer Meyer Halftrack is a more interesting set.

I bet the Rommel Desert Horsch will become just as much as the Rommel Grief Half Track. So I bought 2.

Oz, I had the same thought. I was tempted to pay the $$$ to get the Rommel Grief but passed as I thought for sure they would come out with another Rommel vehicle. I just didn't think it would be so soon:), that Horch should be landing on my doorstep this week. Unfortunatly I lingered to long over the Panzer Meyer set and missed out:(. I'm really hoping they will do a Montgomery SL vehicle set in the future.

Hey Saber,Andy has announced a staff car with Monty,Churchill and Brooke which sounds very good.I have both the Greif and the Meyer vehicles and like them both, the Greif goes very well next to the 222.

Same here.
I got mine around 5 weeks ago and I'm very pleased with it.

I must have missed that one:confused:. When is it coming out?

I pre-ordered mine at the HK shop in early June and then picked it up 2 or 3 weeks later.
Some people have commented that the Rommel figure doesn't look like Rommel. Never having met the guy personally, I don't care whether it does or not. All I know is, I like the set - heaps'n'heaps...!!!
You've got to make that HK trip Saber.

H, you're talking about the Horch right? have you heard about staff car with Monty etc that Rob is talking about? My Horch should be here today or tommorow barring any delays.

And yea, I'd love to make the HK trip but given our long haul flight experiences the last few years I'm not sure the wife would come. I thought she was going to go bonkers after this last flight and that's saying something as she is very level-headed:eek:. My old man went there on R&R from Viet Nam in 63 (yes 63 before things were building up) and he loved it. If I go I'll probably end up going alone, more space for TSs that way:D.

Yes, I'm referring to the Horch. And yes, I remember reading something about the Staff Car Rob is talking about. Think it's coming out before the end of this year.
I know what you mean regarding long haul flights. Since (I think) around the end of March, I've done;
Dalian > Hong Kong > Bangkok
Bangkok > Hong Kong
Hong Kong > Amsterdam > UK
UK > Amsterdam > Hong Kong > Dalian
Dalian > Beijing > Heathrow > Lagos > Port Harcourt
Body clock is still adjusting.

Och, you would love HK.
Vibrant City + Toy Sodiers + No Wife + Heid = As much trouble as I can possibly get you into....:D:D:D

Cheers

It's not so much the body clock for me as it is the Cr..$#@y food and the one annoying child who always plays with the stupid tray on the back of MY seat! When we flew to Hawaii the brick sandwich they served us was disgusting, I kid you not mine was still completely frozen and the &%*%&$# stewardess was upset when I asked her if she could defrost it for me! Mind you I've eaten a lot of army chow so your foods gotta be pretty bad if I can't choke it down.:D:rolleyes:

If I ever make it to HK you'll have to give me the lowdown on where to stay (preferably nowhere close to that local hitting up on you in Nigeria:D:D) A good bar that allows Cigars/Pipes would be nice;).
