Pleased to say I have just joined the forum. Please find some photos (assuming I load them correctly) of a display REPRESENTING (IE: not necessarily historically accurate to the letter) of the Alamo our local figure club here in Western Mass set up at the Springfield Museum. I can certainly provide many more photos of the entire display that ranges from The Egyptians to WWII in over 20 different vignettes such as the Alamo shown here. The figures range from K&C, to Jenkins to Britians and number in the multiple thousands. Again the Alamo is a REPRESENTATION as I am sure you will see some French posing as Mexicans to fill in the attacking troop strength (hey, at least i changed the Napolonic flags with Mexican ones). Advise if you would like to see more.

As a side note,I have just begun collecting completed figures due to the high quality after many years being a Historical Figure Artist and painting my own. For a look of my work focused on the French and Indian war please see my web site at leadandresin.blogspot.com

Welcome to the forum. Spectacular work at the website. -- lancer

Not sure manufacturer...suspect Barzo...bought them from Hobby Bunker

Thanks for the comments on my website. Been painting seriously for almost 40 years and display at most of the major shows here in the States. Never had the interest in collecting finished fighures from a manufacturer before recently which is testimate to the high quality now avail from K&C and Jenkins. Frankly I can't get enough of them and have obtained quite a number in very short order..............with no plans to stop!!

Here are a few more photos of the Alamo representation. I included the French Fellow playing the role of a Mexican Flag bearer. The flag was made from Magic Sculpt putty then painted in artist oils, and replaced the French flag that came with the figure. When the dispaly comes down he will get his flag back and return to the Napoleonic baaracks of my collection

Those Alamo pics look great.
I am using the same Hobby Bunker peices with my 40MM Alamo.
They were made for 54mm but work great with 40MM also.

Hello & welcome to the forum

Your dio looks great ..and the base is especially well done. Good idea in adding the Nap french to beef up the attackers :)

Just wondering if the Alamo Mexicans are same sized as the NAP french ?

Welcome to the forum great to have another Alamo collector onboard - your diorama is first class the best I have seen of the Alamo bar the one in Kings X, but fabulous work.

For those of you that wargame or collect 25-30mm (1/72nd) figures, Ken sculpted a complete Alamo years ago when he was making wargaming buildings. When all the pieces are put together it is a whopping 4' x 5' diorama. It even made an appearance on Deep Space Nine when Wharf (sp?) was questioning why grown men would want to "play' with toys. Silly Wharf!
Anyway, here is the link to see pictures. http://www.wargamescenics.com/Alamo_Model_Pictures.html
See you in Chicago!
All the best!
