JJD UK were lucky enough to show the new Albatros DIII, ACE07 at the March London Toy Soldier Show,
We had the opportunity to take a few pictures before returning to John.
This is in my personal opinion the best aeroplane yet, not only with excellent detailing to the cockpit, guns and undercarriage, but a super paint job to match!
We are looking forward to sending out the first preorders next week.
Enjoy!

I was hoping you might post some photos, thanks for that.
Looks great!
I think mine will be shipping next week.

Absolutely fantastic photos of a superior model. The detail is incredible. The wood grain effect on the fuselage is very realistic. I am really impressed with the research that has been done and adhered to in this model. Even the company logo, the Albatros, is present on the rudder. Kudos to JJD on such a fine product and kudos for the photography job that brings the detail of this model to the fore. -- Al

Looks great James. I could not tell from the photos, but is this new plane set up to take the flight stands that John was showing last November? I really liked the idea of those. Just was not sure when he was going to start to include the option or when he is planning on releasing the stands.

Beautiful model. The paint job on the propellers has improved immensely. Thanks for posting. Chris

Thanks, I enjoyed taking the pics.
I have to say I forgot to look at the underside of the Albatros, and haven't opened one of the production versions which arrived today, to see if it has the mount.
However, the SE5 has the mount, and I've taken a picture, see the March Toy Soldier thread, about to upload.
I believe the stands will be out this year.

Can confirm that the albatross does have the new flight stand, base mount fitted, same as in the SE5 photos.

very nice looking aircraft and, the detail looks very good. I was very impressed with how the engine detail looks.

Can't wait to get mine. This has to be the best WW1 plane released to date! Keep them coming JJ!!!

Anybody get the Lowenhardt Albatros yet? What is your opinion? I'm about 7-10 days away. -- Al

The detail is outstanding. Even the piping from the upper wing radiator to the engine is present. I can't wait to get my hands on this beauty. -- Al

Does anybody know if the German pilot figures (ACE-GP) will fit into this model?

cheers

I think that they probably should. The half-figures fit all the JJD Fokkers, including the Goering D-7. All JJD has to do is make sure the seat in the new Albatros is at the appropriate height, which I bet JJD will do. As a matter of interest, these JJD half-pilots DO NOT fit the KC Albatros correctly. The pilot sits too low, although it would be easy enough to remedy with some sort of addition to the bottom of these pilots to make them sit higher. -- Al

Any photos side by side with K&C's Albatros? Anyone knows if this is smaller than K&C?
I have been told by my dealer that there is little difference in size between the two, and that they look ok, size-wise, when next to each other. According to him, the length, height, and wingspan are all real close in measurement, about a quarter-inch. I haven't gotten the JJD Albatros yet, so I don't know exact measurements. -- Al
