A solid movie overall but it meanders in places. Perhaps the inclusion of the armistice talks contributed to that? There were some astonishing scenes, particularly the attack by the French tanks. Early on it was hard to know who was who. The ending was a bit confected for me. I'd say it was unrealistic, except there were attacks by American troops right up to the bell. (I believe these generals faced prosecution in the 1920s but essentially got let off for throwing those lives away) The 'John-boy' version of the 1970s was more powerful. Still it was good to see decent money spent on it and a classic story made new.
Ironically, it's anti-war message is somewhat out of place with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sometimes you have to fight.
