Ambitious or what? (1 Viewer)

I believe listings are generally free, which is why you see these items relisted at the same price.

Checked those listings to see what you were talking about which brought to mind how this guy listed these things. "Wow Extremely Rare". Now we all know as collectors that,s a croc. When people list items and put a heading like the above who are they trying to attract? Any collector with minimal knowledge of this hobby knows the truth.
Or is he looking for someone looking on ebay for a toaster, stumbles on these and says I better scoop these items up as the seller says they are rare! Not gonna happen.

Thing is everyone (or a few) including manufacturers aims their clap trap at those who are taken in by the ''rare'' ''must have'' limited to 8 million but, still rare as hens teeth'' we see it every day and sadly, there are people who have a bit more coin than sense who lap it up.

The fool and his money are quickly parted and a good few are happy to help the terminally stupid become terminally poor and have items that are not even remotely rare or, hard to get.

Ebay is a breeding ground for taking advantage of those who have more money than common sense.

If it wasn't, you wouldn't see people listing **** tons of products continually on there or turning Ebay peddling into a full time profession.

Without those who can't help themselves when it comes to bidding, Ebay for the most part would cease to exist.

Have to admit I got caught up in a couple of bidding wars on some nice 20mm bits for my collection and thankfully, I lost out on them, would have had a severe case of buyers remorse had I won any of those auctions.

I learned from Tom Dubel to basically set a top end price I am willing to pay, bid that price and let the chips fall where they may, that formula has served me well ever since, so thanks Tom..................

Gary, you are one comical human being (looking on ebay for a toaster, you're killing me...........{sm4}), don't ever leave the hobby as it won't be the same without you............:salute::

Setting my max. price for bidding on ebay items has always been the way I do it.. If I lose, then it went for more money than I was willing to pay and that's fine... BTW, I usually lose out :). Recently I actually won an auction (I was the only bidder) so that was cool.

There have only been a couple of times that I changed my max bid, but neither item was for really big bucks and I won them.. Most recently was for a Christmas present for my wife - some Nativity figures that goes with a Nativity set that belonged to her mother (1950's vintage from West Germany).. I won that bid and it was my wife's favorite gift this past Christmas! So, it was well worth changing my bidding habit this time.. I guess at the end of the day, you've got to pick your battles. I would have kicked myself if I had lost that one.
