American Gods has been renewed...........WHY!{eek3}{eek3}{eek3}

Still watching this, but I'm not sure why as I have little idea what is going on, ie., who is good, bad, whatever, etc. I do like the dialog and acting, but... -- Al

Al...
I love this show...
last weeks episode...
while it had little to do with the Gods...
at least explained some background in Shadow Moon and his wife...
she is a brute...
even with only one arm...
I'm hooked on this...
to be renewed this early
is a good sign that Starz is happy with the viewer's numbers...

Yeah, that one-armed dead girl is a different kind of bad. I did like the visit she payed to her boyfriends wife. The widow was suitably unnerved. -- Al

This show in cinematic insanity and I can't stop watching it!

I'm starting to grasp it a little...
I think it's boiling down to a war between the "old Gods" and the "new Gods" for control of humanity...
Shadow Moon's role...I don't understand yet...
but I have already picked a side...

the old Gods...

so...was it the Leprechaun's lucky coin...that brought his wife back from death??????

she kicked one of those ghouls so hard his spinal cord and skull popped out of his body...{eek3}

I am also starting to, well, not exactly understand, but grok it enough to actually look forward to the next episode. Sorry to see tonight's episode (#5) end. Things are popping in weirdo world. -- Al

SPOILER ALERT

Got home from the Texas Toy Soldier last night...dog tired...but when I saw the latest episode of American Gods in my que...I made a cup of coffee and settled in...anxious to see what was happening...

loved the scene where Mad Sweeney...the deranged large muscle bound leprechaun tried to manhandle Laura Moon's deceased and reborn rotting corpse...he really wanted his lucky coin back badly...she flicked him away with one finger like a fly...as he flew across the room and cautioned him not to try that again...

also loved the scene where the Goddess of Media appeared...not in her Lucy Ricardo persona but had changed to Ziggy Stardust and then to Marilyn Monroe...where she revealed the FBI plot that caused her demise with an needle of poison injected in her eye...you can't make this stuff up...but they do...

also got a kick out of the kiss she blew to Techno boy for his insincere apology to Shadow...which knocked out a few teeth...what a kiss...^&grin

another new God appears...Mr. World...tons of awe and respect given by both sides...especially Techno Boy and Mr. Wednesday as he appears to be the Godfather of the new Gods and a serious adversary...

still don't understand Shadow's role in the show...but as long as Laura doesn't compose...he's got a formidable ally on his side...

hope to see more appearances of the old gods they already introduced...love this show!

When Mr. World appeared, it took me a few moments to realize it was Crispin Glover, who has a series of odd roles to his credit. Kind of inspired casting to use him. Never will forget his exceedingly weird appearence on Letterman way back in the late 80's. This show, as hard as it is for me to figure out, has definitely hooked me. I may even get the book and read it. -- Al

For some reason I really dislike the Shadow character. It seems like a weak role and the storyline with his wife Laura. Ugh. Some of the "gods" are interesting enough to make it watchable but not my favorite. I can really start complaining when Fear the Walking Dead starts up again. LOL.

I don't think Laura is gonna be around much longer...she will slowly decompose I'm sure...

Not my cup of tea, even with some well known actors/actresses.

most bizarre episode of the series...
and that's saying a lot...
spiders making silk for suits...
rabbits that chase cars and poop jelly beans...
hundreds of different Jesus figures from all denominations...
Easter, a.k.a. Eostre, a.k.a. Ostara...
she's a hoot...powerful too iy seems...
the history of Bilquis...her rise and fall and re-rise...
wouldn't want to sit next to her on a plane...
most bizarre episode...
just to name a few weird things...

season finale cleared up a few things...
at least we know who Mr. Wednesday is...
loved the scene where he threw a lightning bolt on to Media's cloning/dancing/faceless Fred Astaires...

trivia fact for viewers...
Odin had many names...
one was "Wodan"...
a derivative of "Wodnesdaeg"...
which translates to Wednesday...
so...Mr. Wednesday...

would like to understand Shadow Moon's role in the upcoming war...

gotta wait til next year...

Agree with you, Mike. Another weird episode in a series that is nothing but weird. Did like the unveiling of Mr. Wednesday's true ID. I will hang in for next season just to see where the story is headed and because I want to see where Dead Wife and her pet flies are going. Also want to see what that poor, abused Mad Sweeney has coming his way. Strange show. -- Al
