An oldie but a "Goodie". (1 Viewer)

The BUTCHER bird.
A classic from TGM and the accessories,I hope its not the last WW2 plane they attempt.

No its not the last Wayne, we have a new plane out in October ( A Wittmann Spitfire! ) and possibly another aircraft in December - both German of course! However Allied fans will be pleased to hear we have an American and British aircraft out early next year to even things up!

Nice one Vicki!!!!

Great pics Wayne. The best aircraft released IMO. Looking forward to a Spitfire as the detail on the wooden Rumpler looked superb.

Its a joke guys, but don't worry about it as its not important, probably helps if you are British or Australian but honestly I would not lose any sleep over it.

I know the truth Vicki. TGM was going to produce a Wittmann Spitfire, but has shelved those plans because another manufacturer is further along in producing their own version of the Wittmann Spitfire.

The Wittmann spitfire refers to a combat near Kursk but months before the Battle of Kursk place , but soon after Wittmann was first given command of a Tiger I. Two of the Russian Aviation Regiments had newly received a shipment of Spitfire MkVb via Iran. One of the regiments that had Spitfires was the 57th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment. Wittmann's Tiger suffered only minor damage.

Here is a photo of the 57th Regiment just before they were designated as a Guards Regiment in early 1943.

And here is the colourway TGM was likely going to use showing the same aircraft but with the Guards Emblem on the tail and the lightning bolt added.

Well, the joke's on me :redface2: Anyway good to know that some British airplanes are in the offing. I hope they can be made with stands.

Well, it's a very controversial aircraft because even though it is a British aircraft, it was flown by a Russian. So the Russians are claiming they got Wittmann first long before the British and Canadians claim they did {sm3}^&grin^&grin
