Guys,

Much as I enjoy debating with you guys, even when it gets heated, I must apologize for some of the things I've written of late. I know why its happening but its no excuse, however I will try and explain so as you may perhaps understand.

I have for many years suffered from a back injury that causes me great pain sometimes for days on end. The stress of this has caused me to lose vision in my right eye, this makes reading very difficult right now. For me this is heartbreaking as when I'm laid up my reading helps keep me sane, with this gone for now I am a very angry unhappy chappy and ' proper grumpy'.

Add all this to my 'Volcanic ' pride and its not a good mix:redface2:.

I apologize whole heartedly for some of the hurtful remarks I've posted of late and for some of the standpoints I've taken, whilst I have huge pride in the RAF I do of course acknowledge the Channel was an obstacle to over come. I am I'm afraid, in great pain, over sensitive and in the words of that mule from Shrek 'A Donkey on the edge' !!. If I've accused anyone of anything that has upset them I retract it fully.

My sincere apologies to all, I'll either sort it or leave I promise.

Finally I'd like to thank Shannon and Peter, I could not imagine two more patient people to run this forum, we are lucky to have them

Rob

My best wishes for improvement to your health.
Mitch

Hey Rob-

you are a bigger man than me. i don't know Vezzolf or Jules but I know Marco55 and Debrito and they are class acts to the core. But you know what, so are YOU!! I haven't seen all the posts between you guys but they must have been pretty heated for you to post an open apology. I know those guys will man up and accept it and drive on. If anyone can be criticized of being virulent and Pro their respective country, it's moi. ^&grin I took a hard look at myself, what I was posting at times, how it betrayed who I really am and simply took sometime off this forum- nothing wrong with that- and am really happy I did as I seem to enjoy this place much more and have stopped taking myself too seriously.

Regarding the back pain- trust me brother, I know exactly what you are experiencing and wish you the very very best in recovery- that really has to be a scary place to be in. One of the very few things I enjoy more than toy soldierin is running and weight lifting- nothing beats feeling the wind on your back and the sun on your face or the sense of accomplishment with the weights. Yet, for the better part of last year, I couldn't run at all- one day I tried to go for a run way too soon and my wife and son had to come peel me off the trail and walk me back to the truck and home (while giving me a rather loud earful of what a dam fool I am^&grin). When I was alone, I cried terribly- it hurts to lose the ability to do something you love. But, I am back now (no pun intended ^&grin) and I fully expect you to be as well.

I fully respect your love of country and wish we saw a lot more of it over here. Hang in there buddy, you're one of a kind!!

Thanks Chris I really appreciate that mate, you've always been a very good friend of mine on here and I appreciate that too. Very glad you've recovered and I'll get there at some point soon.

All the best

Rob

Did you guys hear the one about the Englishman, Irishman, Welshman, Inuit, Zimbabwean, Canadian, Uzbek, Kurd, Jew, Methodist, Hindu, Moslem, Secularist, Syrian, Zulu, Nepalese, Brazilian who were in a bar one evening.

Same here Rob. I know that when a person is not feeling well or there are things that are going in a family, it affects what you might say. I think we're all susceptible to that, myself included.

I know a back is not a fun thing, having been there myself, particularly when it affects other parts of our fragile anatomy.

All the best mate.

Cheers,

Rob, puh-leeze, what offence?! You're a gent, which we can all confirm.

I enjoy reading your posts, and I'll offer a prayer for your relief, too.

Prost!
Brad

Hi Rob. I also wish you a quick recovery from your back miseries and the related problems. Like others on here, I have had similar problems. It is no fun. When the back goes, everything is effected. Get better. -- Al

Rob mate,
You have nothing to apologize for cobber. Your posts are always enjoyable and add a touch of class to the Forum. There are those out there that just love to bait you and get your back up (no pun intended) but IMO you also add a good moderation of opinion and fairness in your posts and in all sections of the Forum. Keep up the great postings.
I hope the early birthday present I posted you in the mail yesterday will ease the pain in your back and maybe also ease some of those pains in the a---s. Look after yourself champ.:smile2::smile2:
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard:salute::

Rob,

I am sorry to hear how bad your back is, and that is has caused you difficulties seeing. Pain can make any of us say and do things we regret, but none of your posts have seemed over the top to me. Get well soon my friend!:smile2:

Rob mate,....
Your posts are always enjoyable and add a touch of class to the Forum..... Howard:salute::

A touch of class? Rob? Our Rob?
Must have missed that Howard. Wait till you meet him in person. Any romantic notions of Rob being in any way a classy guy will soon be quashed ^&grin:wink2:

Rob,

I'm sure you know what I'm gonna say, but it needs to be confirmed. If you think in any way, shape or form some lame back injury, temporary loss of sight or other feeble offering, excuses your attendance at 12.30pm 3 1/2 weeks from now, forget it.
And you owe me a drink. And a coconut Quality Street.
And it's not stress. It's gin. And you know it. ^&cool:p

Rest up mate,

Simon

Simon mate,
So you think I have been lead up the "English Country" garden path by an unscrupulous K&C fanantic.:rolleyes2::rolleyes2:
He told me he was a proper gentleman and had to control all you drunks at the London Shows and Tony Neville and the Grey Goose have backed him up.
On the serious side, I hope Rob is well enough to join you blokes at the Show and create havoc with the barmaids.
Cheers Howard

It was swinging on the chandeliers that put his back out in the first place.
He'll be there. He couldn't live with the shame if he failed to make an appearance.:wink2:
He's right about the rest of the drunks though (I obviously exclude myself from that category, been a fine upstanding member of the community).

Rob,
Hope you feel well real soon.I felt bad on the other thread that you thought I was being negative about your country and countrymen. No way my man.I've always admired British determination and courage.I can't even begin to understand what and how your people must felt during those terrible dark days.I do know you were a beacon of light to the people under Hitler's yoke and gave them hope that someday he would be defeated. All the best my friend .

Well as the Finn said to the Bashy Bazouk who had an Albanian monkey on his shoulder, did you hear the one about the Swede and the Shangaan.

You are a good man Rob. Only the very best health and happiness wishes to
you.

You are kidding Rob. You are the back bone of this forum . So you had a couple of bad posting day's . Join the club of people who are passionate. We all have good day's and not so good day's. There is a stretch for fast bowlers in cricket that could help you just look on the Internet and source the stretch's that may help. Simmo.:smile2:

Rob,

No apology necessary. Somebody clearly knew what they were doing when they put the Channel where it is ! That is a good thing.

All the best,

Brett
