One of the most common reconnaissance vehicles was the 8-rad. But not too long ago, the only one available was a long out of production K&C SdKfz 234 in a 75mm gun turretless version in 3 colour camo. Suddenly there are 8 new versions {eek3} There are 5 of the older SdKfz 232 with frame antennae and 20 mm gun in a turret. (CS - Normandy, Afrika, Winter) and FL (Grey, Afrika) and 3 of the newer SdKfz 234 (K&C 20 mm gun - 3 colour camo) and TGM 50 mm gun in Normandy and winter.

Talk about choice {eek3}

I think it's great that TG has come out with this. I know it generated a lot of excitement in 2005 and, frankly, I don't know why it's taken 8 years to produce another 8 rad.

The TGM Puma looks great and at $139, how can you lose. Just a tremendous bargain. TGM is making 300 combined models in their two versions, whereas the Germans only actually produced about 100. I guess they both qualify as Limited Editions!^&grin -- Al

Well these two look terrific to me, we sure are spoilt for choice this days, am definitely getting K&C's and am very tempted by TGM's too. Good time to be collecting guys!

Didn't realize that K & C had announced a new one (tend to gloss over the German stuff) so I guess collectors now have a lot of selection. K & C's and TG's both look quite nice.

Brad, just to deviate for a second and then I'll bring it straight back, but its happily the same with ACW now too. FL/Britains/K&C/CS all making ACW, and at first you think well they won't mix, then you see Bobs work and its yes they do!^&cool:smile2:

For range of choice and variety its a good time to be collecting all eras these days.{bravo}}

I always had a crush on these AFV's so I couldn't be happier with this, and will be getting both TG's (winter and summer) and K&C's summer (I've got the winter so time ago)! Never thought this 8-rad rain could be falling all almost at once... {sm4}

I know all my Christmas's have come at once! Im overdosing on armoured cars at the moment and you can also include the K&C Humber Armoured Car in the mix! {sm3}

Couldn't agree more Tom, can't wait to get this one;

Rob..

Its a great AFV I will be changing the markings to make it a brit version as Neil has mentioned and noted in PM's the poles did not use these at the time specified!!!

I have a pic of one with a jolly roger/skull and cross bones on the side so, a quick paint of the pole flag black attach the decals and change the unit markings and it will fit more in line with the other brit forces out

Well I will be doing the same mate and would like to know where kc got there intell on a Polish version but see you can get decals for a German captured Version witch would be nice

Neil..

Had not seen the german markings for it. sounds interesting. I think K&C would have read that the poles used them (albeit training in England I believe and stopped there!!!)

The Poles did make heavy use of the Humber Armoured Car in England for training but were re-equipped on going to Normandy. The 3 armoured regiments were equipped with Shermans, Fireflies and some Stuarts. the Armoured Recce regiment (10th motorized Dragoons) were equipped with M5 halftracks, White Scout cars and Universal carriers. The other Armoured Recce Regiment (10th Mounted Rifles) were equipped with Cromwell tanks and some Stuarts.

Ok for some...................^&grin

So much choice for 8-rads! FL's early war version, TG's Puma and now K&C. For the price TG can't be beat, FL's detail is fantastic however my personal favourite and a must buy (due mainly to the camo pattern) is K&C's version. I also like that version of the 8-rad the best but that's just a personal taste issue. As for the Humber I'm disappointed to hear the Poles didn't use one in Normandy however its still an awesome piece and definately near the top of my buy list. ^&cool

Anyone get one of the 3 excellent versions that Collector's Showcase did? These are a bargain at $159. -- Al
